3d prop for 46fx
 

What is the largest diameter and the smallest pitch that a 46fx can handle? I have used a 12.25x3.75 APC with good results. I just want to experiment with some more sizes for 3d on a fun fly.

Try apc 12x4 and 11,5x4. Some use 11x4 but it think it is too small -- makes more noise than plane pulling power.

The Zinger 12x4 wood prop is a great match for the .46 for hovering and general 3D maneuvering.

yes knife brother, i wanna try the zinger wood props too. I saw a jason shulman tape where he says that wood props are better for extreme 3d as there is no spooling effect due to the lighter wood props...the heavier composite props have a spooling delay which affect 3d...

did u say 12x4? where is zinger available online?

Another reason I prefer wood props on these type of aircraft is because most of the time I'm flying the aircraft close to me and catching them out of the hover. Wood does a lot less damage to the body than composites in a worst case scenario! I know from experience! Luckily I was hit in the knee, with some minor cuts. Funny how things get distorted by the modeling community. I used to work at the LHS, and people were coming in from other clubs in the area and asking if the surgeons were able to save my leg!?!?!?

if your not flying into yourself (OUCH!) check out the APC 12.25X3.75. great combo! I do agree w/ the spooling argument but this prop is very light, its translucent at the tips.

Knowing when to say when
 

Some people don't know thier limits and try to do the "catch it from a hover stunt". This is giving the hobby a bad name. Even if you're the only person hurt you should still know and respect you're limits. "KNIFE BROTHER" that means you- please be careful and respect the limits of your abilities.

Dont wast your time and money you are using the best for that sized motor...doing 3D Stuff....I Have been the 12 X 4, 12X6, 11 everything thats how I found the 12.250 X 3.750 Apc...Good luck
