Starting point??????????

OK fellows
Here's what I need to know, I still don't have this art of dual rates and expo down yet, so what I want to know is lets use my Funtana as the Ginnie Pig on this, OK lets say I'm all done putting the plane together and now its time to do a test flight, where should or where is a good starting point for my radio( I use a Futaba 9C) Lets start with the Ailerons, by default it is set at 100 and expo is 0, now where should I start? and also when I apply expo is it minus or plus?? so any help with this would be great, you can even give me dual, tri and 3D or what ever you want....
Thanks a lot

Randy

RE: Starting point??????????

Futaba expo is a nagative to make it less sensitive around neutral. Start around 35% and test. Check the result by moving the stick from center and to about half the throw then the last half of movement. The outer stick movement should be much more movement in the surface for equal input. For the elevator also 35% and rudder 25%. Throws are set at 45 degrees in each direction.

I normally don't use dual rates for this type of plane. If you want to use dual rates for more precise flying reduce the throws to about half for elevator and ailerons and 60% for rudder.
