Practice, Practice and lots of fuel... that's better.

I hate to say it, but if you are inquiring about auto-pilots and gyros, you really shouldnt be looking at that large/expensive/aerobatic plane. I would look at something a LOT cheaper all the way around, (small pattern/ sport/ small scale aerobatic plane), with a smaller engine (less cost), smaller servos (cheaper), and burn gallon upon gallon of fuel honing your skills. From your posts in other threads, you will not be getting this plane for a while, so why not go smaller and cheaper, and have experience alot sooner.

I am only saying this because I would hate to see you put 2500 in a plane only to have it lost due to reliance upon gyros and auto-pilots. Again, I am not saying this to be mean.

I highly agree with Stevezero.

Don't even consider getting a large scale plane until you have mastered the trainer with the help of an instructor. And then you may not even be ready for a large aerobat.

Anyway, to answer your question.

Gyro: Waste of money on anything but a heli.
Autopilot: All it does is return the plane to a neutral attitude. Again worthless because if you were to completely lose your radio signal the plane would go for several mile before it crashed and you will probably not be able to find it.

Good Luck with the 4star. It's great that youre asking alot of questions now. Better to ask them now than after its too late. Just keep burning the fuel, as often as possible and you'll be ready for the big bird in no time.
