Best plane to learn to hover with?

What is the best plane to learn to hover with?

I have on OS 46FX, and one OS .32 that not are in use.
I`ve heard that Super Diablotin should be pretty easy to hover.

I need a airplane so I can hover, hover, hover... and hover :)

if you want to hover hover hover with out crying and crying and crying when you bounce it in get a spad 3d . you can learn to hover 10x times faster because you can learn to hover 2 foot of the runway . and they only cost 10 to 20 dollars to . but 10 if you built it your self or 20 if you get the arf . the 46 is great for it . if you dont like it the first time you fly one you will always have one .

I built a PQHOR, its so easy to hover and harrir its not funny. Mine has a OS 32 on it, it has enough power.

The spad 3D are good. They are cheap and durable, if you want a balsa machine I recommend the Morris Knife 40 size with your OS 46.

Spad all the way. Balsa was costing me a fortune, not to mention all the time they took to repair. One afternoon = Spad 3D (or more than one)
Spad 3D = comfortable hovering and doing tail touches in no time.

The only thing it cost me was about 3 props on the first day, and now not one for about 2 months. They look ugly and I had the plans for a month before another balsa wreck convinced me to build one. I was VERY sceptical. Now I wouldn't be without one.

Where do you buy those spads especially the spa3d.

You dont buy them you build them. There are a few people out there that will build them for you but its super simple to do. You will be hovering in no time but it wont really help you when you go to hover a balsa airplane. My dad does tail touches with his but still cant hover a balsa 3D plane for over 10 sec.

The OMP profiles were designed to be 3d trainers and are all very stable for hovering. Although they are balsa kits so yep plastic SPADS are cheap but I'd agree it's not quite the same as the top of the line profiles out there right now.

O IT WILL HELP TO . YES THEY ARE EASER TO HOVER THAN A OTHER PLANE . THATS WHY PEOPLE USE THEM AS HOVERING TRAINERS . LOOK ON EBAY A GUY HAS THEM FOR 19.95 . THEY ARE GOOD SO YOU WILL LEARN WHAT INPUTS TO MAKE TO HOLD A HOVER . SOME PEOPLE JUST CANT EVER LEARN TO HOVER A PLANE SOME DO IT IN A WEEKEND . [:o]

OK IF YOUR LOOKING FOR TOP OF THE LINE I DON'T THINK YOU ARE. JUST GET A AERO WORKS PROFILE EXTRA OR OPM GIANT EDGE. YES THEY HOVER VERY EASY BUT WHEN ALL SAID AND DON I HAVE 2K A PIECE IN MINE. GO SPAD OR GO CRY. HAPPY #9'S

The Tuflight 4D may be a good one. It's supposed to be "Bonk Proof" for new 3D pilots.

The main thing is not to invest tons of money or time, as you will probably beat it up bretty good as your courage increases.

Just don't give up!

I was thinking the SouthernX2 would be the best plane to learn hover/3D... but it's electric... lol ;) You should still check out the video (1st link) so you'll see what I mean. More indestructible than SPA3D... hehe.

1st post is the video that started it all... http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...5&pagenumber=1

The Spads are great, but for the easiest to hover wood plane I have flown, Heckler 3D!

I'm not sure if it's out, but I've seen a video of the prototype. It seemed to fly well, and is said to take a bit of a pounding.
