saito 180/sig extra 300 - will it hover?
 

Appreciate input from folk who actually own this motor (Yes, I know, ys, os, xx,xxx will do it better for less and use less gas ;) ).

Simply, will this motor hover a 12#plane and give unlimited verticle on 15% nitro...

Ps. Anyone try 10 nitro?

My H9 Edge 540 will hover with a Saito 180 and an experienced pilot at the controls (read that as....a pilot other than I...hehe)

My plane weighs 1 oz over 12 lbs....

I have one with a 12+ pound plane on 15%. It will hover and it will pull out...but not with great authority...if your intention is wild 3D in the future...I would forget this combo. 11 lb plane is what you want....or even less!

thanx guys. Im just trying to convince myself to keep the motor, as it is still unopened. I LOVE the sound of fourstrikes, since it really sounds more like a "real motor." And Ive had great luck with saito's (never had to dead stick because the motor flamed out :D )....

I guess Ill mount it then!

you won't be disappointed with the motor......just use a plane that is a little lighter...like the sig cap.
