Engine to Hover Magic Extra?

I'm thinking about getting Model Tech Magic Extra. Does it do good 3D aerobatics like waterfalls, blenders?
What kind of engine do you use to make your Model Tech Magic Extra Hover? Also, can you tell the CG settings?
Thanks,
Andrew

I would say 46FX. BTW, hovering actually doesn't require a ton of power. What requires a ton of power is having the airplane pull out of a hover vertically like it's a sling shot. Although that's not necessary for all fliers, it's a matter (luxury) of personal preference. I have this Fun Air 3D with a 40 FP and it will hover right around 75-80% throttle and I'm really I'm happy with that. Why? Because I also have the low wing loading which is a great benefit to doing many aerobatic manuevers. A 40FP is a lot lighter than 46FX, uses way less gas, so a smaller tank and hence lower flying weight is possible. With a severely overpowered airplane, usually you have a trade off of it being heavy and high wing loading. So the 46FX will be perfect IMO. I personally put an Irvine .53 in my Magic Extra and it pulls out pretty strong (APC 12-6). It's also not much heavier than the 46FX. I just didn't feel like buying another 46FX since I already had one (I like variety). If you get the 46FX, an APC 12-4 or 11.5-4 are both good props for 3D.

You said "Magic Extra" and Katana mentioned a "Magic" (Maybe he meant Magic Extra...) - I have flown both and the regular Magic-3D is easier to hover but will not knife-edge or do too many "outside manuevers"- whereas the Magic Extra flies like a cross between a 3D ship and sportsman pattern ship-

The Magic Extra will hover and barely pull out with a 46FX the Magnum-52 seems a tad stronger- and the Irvine-53 would be the hot ticket-

I bought a cheapo Hot-Knife profile and it flies purty well with my 46FX-

Hope this helps

Thanks for all your suggestions.
But how about a Tower Hobbies .46 BB ABC? It weighs 16.9 oz and it has 1.75hp. The OS 46 fx weighs 16.45 oz and has 1.62 hp.
The Magnum 52 weighs 17.4 oz but not sure about the HP. Can anyone give suggestions about the best to use of these 3? Im kind of leaning towards the Towerhobbies engine.

Very good flyer. I am impressed with the flight envelope. It will slow to a crawl and go straight up until it's out of sight. The OS 46FX seems to hover at 1/2 throttle although I can't hold it very long.

RE: Engine to Hover Magic Extra?

I have been playing around with one for about a month.... Magnum .52 four stroke with a 12.25x3.75 prop..... my CG is about 1 inch aft of the recommended range... I have a 6v battery in the first bay of the fuse.... I can hover the model at just below 3/4 throttle... the little Magnum has only 6 tanks through it.... I might try a bigger prop after a few more flights....

Harriers are sweet with the Magic Extra... and flatspins are OK... I think I need to take out some aileron throw to make them tighter.... Blenders are spot on.... I can hit 3 out 4 attempts on a blender with it.... not enough power for waterfalls (or at least with way I waterfall).... I haven't tried a knife edge spin... not enough power for knife edge loop.
