Saying that it's not hovering if it only lasted 2 or 3 seconds is like saying Orville and Wilbur didn't fly because they didn't do a loop. Everything starts out in baby steps.

Both guys have had plenty of time to give the usual "Just kidding" disclaimer, and have not.

As for control, I'd try two of the smallest GWS fans, both on reversable ESCs. Mount one in each stab, and use the thrust to move the tail. I can't think of a lighter solution, as of now. Those would make for some interesting flight charachteristics, no?

Leave it to Jon to pull it off, and Wayne to stir the pot with it...[8D]

This has got to be the funniest, most rediculous and most entertaining topic I have ever seen!!

As Simon Jones says,

You could have a dual electronic switch linked with a bit of circuitry that swaps bettween cable No.1 and 3 on the brushless esc, so at the flick of a switch the motors direction is reversed.

Got the makings of a possible way of doing it like most other stuff....first thought of by a british mind, then a Yank is the only one that can be bothered to try it and then has the rights to call it his idea!:D

So now the Doctor has to reply.

Inverted prop hanging is old news ,like 89 pages old.I did it first as was seen by the incredable PRO 3D and his apprentice Edible engine.

Really I don,t see what all the fuss was about sure some of you guys were correct,But the english suffer from a lack of imagination which is why we give you all ouy inventions and you make them work correctly. My great friend Rodney from New Jersey told me the only way to get the aircraft to prop hang inverted with no airflow over the surfaces was to add puffer Jets to the rear end of the model just like the great American harrier. so that's just what I did and boy they work really well, so well you can add these to any aircraft, trainer hot air ballons etc.

One day I might put finger to keyboard and show you how to install it. But it way to complex to tell any one.unless they can use AUTO CAD 2004 and have access to a couple hundred meters of fuel tubing.

If this thread keeps expanding at this rate it may become the biggest thread on the site and we can all go round giving kisses to each other yipee

Dear Dear Dear I've returned a few minutes later and we're still on page 3
Ithought it might have progressed on to something more adventurous by now , never mind.

If you're talking about me I'm a BRIT! ;) ----- I like the idea of a small motor towards the rear of the plane blowing air over the surfaces - thanks for that idea.

So, doctor. Does it matter what colour fuel tubing you use? Thats a very serious factor in this progect of your which you fogot to mention i say! for a Mental Genius like you i thought youd have thought of that! That could be a life changing desision for us simple-tons out here.

RE: RE: RE: Inverted Hovering. It has been done now!

Well what would you like me to say. I was born in a self gratification land too .But I have the courtesy to call myself a fine European rather than a Brit .

If you like the idea of small motors on Model planes Maybe you should become a scale modeler and run your engine on a fuel such as Castor 80/20 with no nitro .

RE: RE: RE: Inverted Hovering. It has been done now!

Ah, what brand. Can i make my own? used those castor capsules eat a breakfast, melt em down. I say tho, wee dont need ne synthetics!

What, ????????? Did I not state that I would not tell any one how to do it. Man I am too busy looking in my mirror telling myself how damn good I am that I have no time to discuss anything so trivial such as this and what colour my Bathroom is.

however I feel much better after that so I can now help you. If you know any thing about Aircraft and navigation it is obvious that one much use Blue and Red and not just any ole Flourescent one. Man Why Do i have to explain this????

Ian.W 02-20-2004 05:26 PM

RE: RE: RE: Inverted Hovering. It has been done now!

As im not a Mental Genius. So, what is the colour of your bathroom. Does it match your new moled

doctor jason 02-20-2004 05:26 PM

RE: RE: RE: Inverted Hovering. It has been done now!

Yes i will be running my YS 110 on a Castor fuel/Methane combo.Any brand will do which does not tell you the oil content.

that way down at the field , you can bragg to all your mates that you use Brand X with only 4% oil content, or if your safety consious tell them you are using 45% oil.

good luck.

Why would you need a new fantastic new plane that does inverted prop hanging? Seems like you've got it all sorted ol' chap. ;)
