DON'T try this

I was thinking about how people grab a plane with their hands while prop hanging instead of landing, I don't know where from i got this idea but I thought "why not bite the tailplane with your teeth"

This would probabaly result in loss control and then death so don't try it.

So why am I posting this?

Ah! Bugger it all.....

Here's my mouth catch from a month ago. You could see the teeth marks in the foam afterwards.

Next time you can show us the prop marks on your cheek.

RE: DON'T try this

personally, i think if a person has enough control of their aircraft and they feel confident enough, then grabbing the plane while hovering is OK. I don't do it cause its my choice, but seeing someone do it is respectable. I dont think its that big of a deal because its the pilots choice, no one elese will get injured but him/her, so let it be.

Have managed to catch my mini ifo a few times in my mouth, but its really tricky, and most times you look like a complete idiot.

wow, i cant even catch mine out of the air with my hand. I ccan prophang the plane (cougar) about a foot from me but i cant do the catching bit :(

RE: DON'T try this

I have never tried this so dont give me any credit. To those pilots who have, jolly good show. There are some soaring pilots who jump over their planes as they fly it towards them. Good thing they're gliders. A prop would take your leg off.

I ahd a .15 plane, with which I could hover and it didn't have enough power to pull out. So when I was hovering about 30-40inches of the ground my brother was always taking the model and I was throwing it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Hi Dan,

T-3Ds have fairly good sized ailerons and they harrier roll great. Until the motor cuts out while doing them a few inches off the ground.[:'(] I always need to time my flights from now on. It's a great plane!

Everytime i fly indoors i try. I've gotten really close. It's hard cause i concentrate on getting my mouth over the foam when its moving and then lose concentration of the plane, then have to start over.

The small T3D doesnt roll well at all. The ailerons are too small, and cause too much drag, slowin the plane down, and then you have even more problems. The T3DII is better, but doesnt fly nearly as slow as the smaller T3D. All depends on what you want to do.
