CAP-X or Kangke CAP232
The Kangke has gotten raving reviews. I wonder how the CAP-X will do against it. They seem on the same level. They are priced about the same ($330).

I haven't seen the Kangke, but I do have the CAPX.......In my opinion, the CAPX is as close to flawless as any ARF could ever be.....just my thought

I also have the CapX and I am wondering were the center of gravity is. It is left out in my instructions.

Cap X is GREAT. I'm working on a review now (not for RCU though). I also wonder where the CG is?

RE: CAP-X or Kangke CAP232
Kangke Cap is not that light. With a Saito 180 it weighs 12 lb. With Moki 180 it weighs 13 lb. A CF gear, light spinner, remove pants, & light servos would save a a few oz, and possibly get it down to 11.5 lb. But still, it doesn't come w/ quality hardware like the Cap X. I got it from eBay for $250 last year. I wouldn't pay over $300 for the Kangke Cap.

Well as far as I know the only feedback on the flying qualities of the CapX is from the designer himself. And ofcourse I can understand how that may be viewed as somewhat biased. But I personally feel that a plane designed and approved by Chip Hyde will be a much better plane that a standard Cap from Kangke. And I'd almost be willing to bet my next paycheck that the quality of the construction and finish of the CapX is second to none. And I can personally atest to that quality as I have one of these in my hobby room right now.
In my vast ARF experience I have never seen an ARF thats built and finished as well as this plane. But I'll be able to give you my opinion of the flight characteristics of the CapX here in a few weeks. |
RE: CAP-X or Kangke CAP232
But I'll aslo add that if your intent is to simply fly basic aerobatic manuvers with this plane you may not see much of a difference. Its my understanding that Chip has designed out alot of the bad nabits that Caps are known to have when pushing the 3D envelope such as wing rocking and snapping.
