Mine may be a very QUIET Cuda.. and I don't mean can mufflers :D
Jee, what COULD you mean by that? :D What ever petrol engine you choose the model should be electrifying.

Current possible power choices:

Hacker C50-14XL
10s3p Thunder Power 6000 mah Li-po's
APC 22x12E

2 x Hacker C50-12L running in Inner Demon gear drive
2 x 6s3p Thunder Power 6000mah batteries
APC 26x12E

All depends on the weight I can build to.. IF I can make it 13 pounds or less RTF, it'll get the single motor setup. If not.. dual motors on the ID drive. I'm 95% certain I'll be building it electric.

will somebody please show some pictures!!!! if its going to be at the show why does it matter if we see it now? in chips thread he has shown us pictures of his prototypes. sorry, just want to see what this thing will look like.

It matters because Dennis asked me not to show pictures.. and that's enough for now. It'll be at Toledo.

Very nice! How much is the kit?

Humm..

Not what I expected.
I thought this would be a all out 3D plane. Just from looking at it it doesn't have enough control surface for 3D nor large enough fuse side area.

Thanks for the pictures, AEROSHELDON

Well, that is one nice thing about building a kit. If you wish, you can cut the elevators 60%/40% and the ailerons 30%. Side area looks good, I think the pic is deceiving. Plus, it is short coupled and that alleviates the need for a full flying stab.

My concern would be the weight, not versus the wing area but the fuse side area. However, too light and a real-man's blender might rip it apart. Also, the extra weight can really increase the solidity in harrier/elevator mode and an elevator can be frustratingly horrible with too little weight to give a real drop to the airplane.

Carden versus ARFs? I like ARFs but have never been as pleased with any as much as what I can create with a few weeks in the shop. I would not worry about Carden losing business to ARFs. People, including me, love the format of their kits and the solidity of the finished product. Their flight characteristics speak mounds for the designs.

Getting over excited? Well, why not? New airplanes will always excite me to having dreams about them.

Great looking plane and has a lot of potential. I may have to give it a try since I have been wanting a Carden to build for a long time. Only problem I can see with this plane is is wont be eligible to fly at any IMAC or Scale Aerobatics meets. If I understand it correctly the plane needs to represent a real aircraft within 10% deviation. Since this is not designed after a real plane I dont see how it can be flown at a SA meet. Then again, this plane should be a great throw around plane. Hopefully soon someone will start a build thread and I can see what is under all that covering. I always enjoy building planes and found my latest project an enjoyable experience, an AW 29% Edge. Carden seems to be thought of as the "Cadillac" of kits and I always strive for the best of quality.

Here is where I am in my AW Edge except that the tail group has been cut and hinged.

The Cuda can be flown in Basic class.
Any class above that will require a SA plane.

Those ailerons are 9 inches on the fuse side, I think the plane will rock. Anyone near Cincinnati want to build it for me?

The Cuda is 499.00

The pics don't do it justice.

Thank God there is Wild Hare...it's a beautiful plane, the 'Cuda.
Hopefully some one will ARF it, at about 400 bucks.
No wait, Wild Hare has already done that...

Saw one in Eau Claire, WI a couple weekends ago. Had a DA-50 with a 23-8 carbon prop. It was a prototype at 18lbs and would torque roll all day.
