Very very nice job Chad!!! Looks cool
Great color choice, the white, red, yellow and metalic blue combo aways looks great together. How did you do the shaded canopy??? Or is that top secret :D
Cant wait to see some finished shots there....

It´s looking great!!!

Chad,
Nice colors. What covering are you using? Monokote or Oracover?

I´m still waiting on Pascal to lay up my Enigma fuselage. I imagine another few weeks. I´m going to build another Majestic too. Busy winter ahead.

I look forward to seeing the finished Evolis and your flight report.

Mark

Thanks man!!

The canopy was pretty easy, I used a silver metallic first and did the entire canopy solid with that color using a touch up gun. Then I pulled out my airbrush (Paashe VL) and sprayed on the black just slowing trying to fade it out (it is a basic hi-gloss black).

It was my first time using an airbrush to fade colors, so if I can do it anyone can!! I am no artist that is for sure :)

Hi Mark

It is Ultracote (Oracover same thing different name) I dont like Monokote, I could just never get it to work right.

I cant wait to see and hear more on the Enigma, another big order is going out east to some pattern friends of mine (8 Synergies, 1 Evolis, 1 Enigma) so I put in for an Enigma with that!!! Can never have enough planes, lets see that is one Vector, two Evolis and hopefully soon one Enigma, and only 3 engines....... damn :)

Hopefully I will have it ready by the end of next week, it will take a few days for the paint to cure up properly to sand before clear coating it.

Sure I will paint stuff for you I could use the practise, I actually prefer painting over covering, must be the fumes :spinnyeye

Does that apply for all of us?? I plan on getting a Fiberclasics extra or the ZNLine extra in the very distant future. That would give you planety of practice!! :D

The plane looks GREAT!

Beautiful

Chad,

That is a beautiful airplane. I'll bet that it flys nice. What engine are you going to put in it? Also, how do you like that one piece wing as far as transportation goes? Or can you "break" the wing down into two pieces?

The YS 140DZ is going in it, I have one in my Vector right now and love it, best motor I have ever had.

The one peice wing is lighter than the plug in wing, because there is no tube. It is a little bulky but other than the transportation issue I think they are a better system than a plug in wing. The fuse gets a lot of stiffness from the wing. If the wing is joined properly there is no chance of one panel being out from the other (both an advantage and disadvantge).

I drive a Neon and can fit it in there so a mini-van or something like that will have no problem at all!!

The weight estimate is about 9.25-9.3 lbs, it was roughly 8.7 lbs with all the equipment in place without paint or covering.

Could you give a brief description of how you joined the wings?

Beautiful plane, BTW :)
