A new Beginning for The Saito72

My Funtana is dust and although there are many things to praise the plane for, I really do not see the point in buying another one until there is definite cure for the tip stall issue.[:o]

So, I am in the market for a new plane.:D

Tempted by the madness II but don't really like the decor and the only othe one I can think of is the Freestyle 46 but I do not know where to get it here in the Uk.

Any suggestions would be helpfull. It is a 3d plane i am after somthing like a Hype for example but perhaps a bit more nimble.

Anyhow your suggestions would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

If you dont want the Hype, which I have heard is very good, well I'm thinking of getting thw Weston Groove when it comes out. Due to be launched at Sandown, so hopefully I'll get one there :D

If you dont mind building a kit, get a capiche. You can now choose either the aero wing or the fun fly wing. Best plane I've flown so far :D

Hey don't get me wrong, me and the Hype get on very well it is just a bit slow on the role rate. Well very actually.
Have to say the Groove is a great looking plane. If it were here today I would buy it.

I think i will get the Capiche As well only problem is until I move house which will be on the 19th June I do not have anywhere to build. 3 Styla looks good as well in that respect. Nathan Farrel-Jones recomends it qiuite highly.

Nathans tried to make me buy one for ages lol. he recosn its prob the easiest *3D funfly* to fly. Not a hybrid like the C50 which is more of an artistic aerobat.

Yeah I think it is a must buy. Looks like it will fly a bit like the Hype but with a faster role rate and perhaps even more authority with the elevators.
Oh and edible, lost the cougar yesterday as well another fus build. Think it was some sort of interference as the controls just went really spongy so just managed to keep it level as i watched a slightly steeper than desired landing take place. Oh well.

Any how at the moment I need an ARF so any suggestions would be nice.

Do you know where you can get global arf's here?

To improve the roll rate, cutting off the wing tips does the trick apparently on the hype

Just been up to Sluff Models to buy the Madness II and could not bring myself to buy it. Looks like a great flyer, extremley well built , very light but the colour scheme just put me off. And I have never come across a more flimsy tail section in my life. It was so soft you seriously could not imagine it taking any kind of stress whatsoever. They were actually reinforcing one when i got there.

Anyway that one is off the list anyone got any other suggestions?

Shame about the madness. Chap at my club had one of the first of the originals, snapped the stab off at least once [:@]

How about the new Seduction Streamline? Sorry, another kit...

Yeah actually saw one fly today at Ascot and wasn't that impressed. Althoughbe fair to the pilot he did some very clean rolling circles and there were quite a few thingg flying at the time. Still a harrier would not have gone amiss.

Actually been looking at the Kange Fun 50. At first I was not that taken by the looks but it has grown on me big time. there is a review on this site with some nice pictures ( Check out the profile of the stab) and also if you go to www.downonthedeck.com there is an amazing video where they crash it at the end. Got to be seen

That bloke's madness's tail at ascot today did survive quite well when an old-timer whacked into it :D

Spoke to a bloke in wales who had bought a seduction wildstyle after having a go with the madness 2. He said the wildstyle is way better.

Would also recommend the pete tindal Innovation Pro, which is a great 3Der, does best tailslides ive ever seen, but its a kit also, and a bit marginal with a Saito 72. I am getting a Saito 100 for mine.

Yes, the Madness had no damage. Gary Rawlings and Nathan rawlings had a father and son mid-air that was quite funny at the time

I think i might have to take a look at a few Pete Tindal kits when I get the chance. Kangke Fun 50 is my favourite for ARf at the moment it has to be said. All i need to do now is find out who sells the damn things in the uk.

Cutting the wingtips off of my Hype was the best thing I ever did for it. The roll rate doubled, the knife edge smoothed out, and I haven't noticed ANY bad traits since the change over.

Ooo thats good, my Wildstyle is just about ready to go, hopefully will get it in the air next weekend :D. Wouldnt go with the 72 though, I have gone with the 56 but it is still coming out nose heavy. I have now got the battery and rx out back with the servos [&:].

Luke, whats the inovation pro like for knife edge?

Nothing like a capiche 50. The rudder will wrench it through a K/e loop just, but i'm expecting double the prop-wash going over the controls when the saito 100 is put in place of the irvine 53. Think the poor planes not going to know whats hit it. The weight of the massive control surfaces allow great tail slides, think i managed close to 15-20 feet last saturday.

You wont believe it but the guy had a YS 63 in his wild style!!! Harriered very steadily.
