XFC question
Hello:
I have several questions regarding the XFC, I am planning on attending this year (as a spectator!) 1. How do they schedule the flights during the day, alternate between planes and helis, or planes on Sat. and helis Sunday? 2. Do they run 2 flight lines? 3. Will there be any type of bleachers or seating available or is it bring your own? 4. Any type of concession stand or bring your own food and drink? 5. How is the competition broken, or what are the rules for elimination? Throw out anything else you know of that I did not ask about specifically. Thanks in advance. Craig |
RE: XFC question
Craig,
These are some answers to your questions as far as I know. In order, 1- They have always alternated between the planes and heli's 2- No. One flightline so the spectators and judges can have the best possible view of what is in the air at the time. 3- I'm not sure 4- I'm not sure 5- Without having the judging criteria in front of me I'll give you what I remember. I am almost positive that a violation in the flightline is a ZERO for that round. I also know that if any part of the plane touches the ground at anytime during a flight that flight is over. (I think that is a change from years in the past) |
RE: XFC question
Thanks wayne. It seems that everybody must fly on Sat. in order to eliminate some people for finals on Sun., is this correct?

RE: XFC question
I am pretty sure everyone will be flying all 3 days.
In the past there has been no eliminations. The field has expanded to 20 aircraft and 20 heli pilots this year so its going to be busy all 3 days. Everyone will place somewhere. 1st - 20th (If I am getting any of this wrong someone please correct me.) |
RE: XFC question
For #3 and 4...
In the past they've had some benches, but most spectators have their own chairs. They've also had a concession stand in the past. As Wayne said, they alternate between planes and helis. 5 of each alternating in previous years. Baron |
