3D nuts SPEAK OUT
Hey everyone,
Have you been looking for that perfect .40 size 3D plane like me? Your heart really wants a 40% but your pocketbook (aka your wife) says no. Well, let me tell you about my experience with Laser Models Laser 3D. I know its a kit, and I know that its pricey for a .40 kit, but it is worth every penny of your money and time to build. You could get a .40 size ARF 3D plane for around the 175 mark, so why spend 125 and have to build and cover it. Well you get what you pay for. I bought one of these planes used at a trade show for 100 bucks, the model was built light. I installed middle of the road hitech servos (605BB, 645MG) and a Satio .72, I programmed high and low rates into my Hitech Eclipse radio, took off and fell in love. This is the absolute first airplane that I had that I could do waterfalls with on the first flight with no extra programming. The first flight also included torque rolls, inverted flat spins that just stayed in one place, rolling circles, and a rolling loop. Now dont get me wrong I am a pretty fair pilot, but this thing was making me look GOOD. Fifteen flights later I was hovering under 10 feet (enough to make the corn planted around the feild blow ) then I gased it and tried a waterfall at around 20 ft. Well, that wasnt a great idea on low fuel and splat it went. I have already ordered a new one thats on its way now b/c I am hooked. This one is going to have more modifications and I am going to try to win the downonthedeck video contest with it next time around (thats a long shot even flying a perfect plane but...). If you have a 3D plane that you think is awesome (and not a carden ) then let us all hear about it. |
