Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
I have Real Flight.
I've seen all videos of Aerofly. The planes do very nice torque roll not because Aerofly is better than Real Flight but cause the pilot uses full left ailerons to get torque roll. See videos at [link]http://ohiomodelplanes.com[/link] What do you think about? |
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
You obviuosly have never flown aerofly pro have you? The 3d planes will TR all by themselves without your help, sometimes a little to easily

RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
Real Flight is definately better

RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
But its unrealistic. Ipacs who made AFP do military flight sims.

RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
I have flown both extensively. I think Real Flight is a better overall "program" meaning its more stable, has more general features and lots of options with better tech support should you run into bugs or problems. AFP has a a somewhat better algorithm to compute its physics, but unless you need or are good enough to fly with military precision you won't even notice it.
As far as I'm concerned, the low speed (3D) handling with RF is far more accurate and realistic that AFP. I use all the same stick sequences for maneuvers with RF as I do on my real planes. AFP allows me to do things I could never do on the sticks and makes some manuevers wayyyy too easy. I last about 30 secs max in a torque roll in RealFlight - about what I can maintain with my real plane. AFP, I can TR on take off and hold it there at will until I want out.... not real to me. They are both great progams to learn on and practice but I were to choose between them - it would be real flight. DP |
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
Real Flight, how dare you challenge my word?

Take it easy.

RE: what plane to fly on real flight for 3D
I used real flight before i knew to fly, and ive been flying for about 6 months and im still learning something new from real flight, but i suggest you go to realflight.com and download from the swap pages, look for something like a cap232, it might be a little easy if you know how to do 3D but if your starting out it might be challenging.

RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
Well they both beat FMS.
Some people say FMS is an excellent sim for first timers, in my opinion, no, the planes seem to be underwater, when you let go of the sticks, it keeps on rolling and rolling. The annoying thing was the incredible amount of torque, even in the jets you rolled due to torque. You could never trim for that, the right amount of trim was in between the clicks!!!! |

ORIGINAL: Arnold Schwarzenegger Real Flight, how dare you challenge my word? |
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
arnie, i dont like you, you are harsh, i dont think the people of CA would like to see you be harsh just cos AFP is 10x better than realflight.
bye bye *coughvittoriocough* |

[8D]Hi people
;)Hi edible_engine, my good old friend I'm Vittorio from Italy[sm=sunsmiley.gif]a beautiful country. I'm not "Arnold Schwarzenegger". I don't like him too. I agree with you, edible_engine. I want to sell Real Flight (ARF, Almost Real Flight) and buy Aerofly Pro. Bye bye, RC admins want to send me away from this forum but I can't stay no longer far from you. |
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
Well, if you can't sell Realflght just get AFP anyway, its seems pretty good. Glad to see now more big changing colour writing, you will be able to send message faster now. Do yourself a favour, don't start posting rubbish, you will be booted again and again, just be normal and try to enjoy things |
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
vittorio, buying AFP is a good move on the way to learn 3D. keep your posts normal and youll stay on here.

RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
I have both realflight and AFP. The biggest difference is in realflight the ailerons become ineffective when the plane is stalled... 3D
on my real planes I can control a torque roll with ailerons, with realflight you cannot |
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
I am not afraid of Sylverster Stalone. I don't care he did Rocky, I could break him in two like a twig.

RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
[8D]Hi people
Dear "dirt3d" and all other beginners and 3D experts Awaiting of getting AFP, can you tell me what is the best plane of Real Flight to learn 3D? I have add-ons n. 4. Thank you. Vittorio from Italy[sm=sunsmiley.gif]a beautiful country. |
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
the Extra 330S Freestyle (SD) and move the CG back to -9.5 inches.
|
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
[8D]Hi people
Dear Threshold the plane you suggested is too slow, too light, too unreal: Then it's still better the plane I suggested: http://www.bestrc.com/hobbies-bin/co...330Profile.exe "desertpig", you praised Real flight. Where have you desappeared? Vittorio from Italy[sm=sunsmiley.gif]a beautiful country. |
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
I use one of the big caps on the swaps page. I am not sure the exact one, but you only need the main disc (no add-ins) to use it. Its huge - it actually appears partly covered by the runway its so big, but don't think there is something wrong.. try it!
If you can learn to TR this plane in RealFlight, you will be able to TR your real RC plane (assuming its set up right and has enough power) . I though this was BS at first, as another flyer once told me this .. however -after several weeks of crashing, I finally got the big cap to TR consistently. Low and behold - I tried it with my real 1/4 scale CAP and I could TR it too. Says a lot about the program and who set up that CAP profile on the swap page.. Prior to using RF, I was using AFP and I could TR all day on the sim but when I went to the field - I fell out of the TR every time. I bought both so I am not slamming AFP - IMO RF is a little better. They are both good to learn basic flight and patterns on, I think the 3D part RF is better at. I disagree with the aileron movement when stalled. You might not be able to "see" the ailerons move, but they still have effect... Good luck! I don't think you can lose with either software... DP |
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
Ciao l'Aviatore Italiano. Dove lei vive?
Ciao, D Cini |
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
I agree with Dirtdr. I have even tried to modify te ailerons and make them cover more of a % of the wing, and once the plane is hovering, you cant keep it from TR.
|
RE: Real Flight or Aerofly Pro?
I think even though no sim is 100% realistic, AFP is extremely good as far as a sim goes. Realism in hovering is very good, and will teach you the imputs required during torque rolls. it makes the hovering learning process a lot cheaper faster and quicker
