i have a 46 la and a 10*5 prop but i seem to have to much top speed but no how do u put it torque or accleration? what prop should i install thanks

What are you trying to do with the plane? If you want to do some 3D try a 12.25X3.75. I don't know exactly what you are looking to do.

The Master Airscrew 12x4 is a good 3D prop for your engine. It's also 1/2 the price of the APC. Plus the 12.25x3.75 is kind of a wide blade design. My ST .45 turns it fine but I think the .46la is a little weaker.

smaller second number means less top speed. this give you more pulling power at lower speeds(like hovering).

the first number is the length of the prop from tip to tip. the second number is how far it goes in one turn. so with the 12x4 the length is more but the bite is less. and the 12.5x3.75 is a little longer than that and even less bite which will give even less top speed and more low end pulling power. this is good for 3D. I think the 46 la should be able to spin this prop ok. the master airscrew is lighter i think. this might be better if you dont get the spool up you want but ild try the apc props first.

thanks i now know what u mean. i have a choice of either a master air striker 12.4 or a ajc 12.25 *3.75 witch one will be the better choice for me ?

for two years I used the apc 12.25X3.75 on my os.46 it was a hugh improvement for 3d over eveything else available. about 9 months ago I tried a 12X4 zinger - this prop is a hugh improvement over apc. it is much lighter, does not cavitate while hovering, has a nice wide smooth power band right around hover - there is another prop es brand from europe that might be even better 13x5 is lighter yet, seems to pull harder, the larger diameter might produce a better giro helping hovering. I will try one and report back.

Hi Guys,
using APC props for years I find that it's true that are efficient props for 3D they are too much heavy. This doesn't allow fast transition and causes rpm lost.
After several tests I've finally found really the BEST prop. Graupner, Eco Cam Prop (light grey, glass filled), or better Cam Prop (same design but carbon filled, so much more rigid).
My TT Pro 50 Hely, used on a Ripmax Extreme, turns the Cam Prop 12,6x4 at 13500 rpm on ground, on a 5% nitro fuel.
The 12,6x4 wheight is 30 grams, half than an APC 13x4 W!!!!
As I know that you can't find them in USA, If you want , you can find the full range of Cam Props on the Hollein site (it's a German even-online shop).
P.s. for me Master props are good only to mix epoxy.
