I need help with choosing a first 3d.

i read many threads about which 3d is the best but still cant decide.
in conclusion i decided that my plane will be one of the next 4, please help me choose the best 3d out of them:

freestyle rush - http://www.kmp.ca/rcpics/rushspecs.htm
3styla - http://www.rcworld.co.uk/acatalog/3styla_Kit.html
funtana 40

Have seen some very good flying from the 3styla and rush. If you want to be able to do pattern/freestyle aerobatics then i would pick the rush, otherwise if you want a 3D funfly then the 3styla.
What engine were you looking to use?

I also recommend the Capiche 50, because ive got one and it flies pattern and 3D really well. I have learnt a great deal from it and its brought me a long way. Like the 3styla its a kit

i do look for pattern/freestyle aerobatics . about engine i haven't thought about it yet but i think it will be 2 stroke os or super tigre.
what do you suggest more, the rush or the Capiche 50 ?

You should really go for the Funtana 40. It's a blast to fly with a 61 two stroke or an 82 or 91 four stroke!!

the rush and capiche are far better for pattern and freestyle aeros than the funtana- they both have the required side area for really good Knife Edge.
However whatever you choose out of these three will probably teach you a lot;)

If you want info on the Capiche 50 take a look at www.flycapiche.co.uk
It way lighter than the funtana. The engine you'd be looking at would be a super tigre 50 or something like that.

Go with the capiche! The F40 is a good plane I have both of them, but for what your wanting I think (IN MY OPINION) is the capiche.

Do some reading and decide for yourself.

good luck whatever you decide.:D

I'm curious, in what way the funtana is better than the capiche/rush ?

For a first 3D plane? OK....

Is this to learn 3D or perform 3D?

I would highly recommend an electric 3DX or a SPA3D, PQHOR (SPAD) to learn on. 3DX is foam and will take abuse better if it is not too hard. Don't let it fool you, the 3DX uses the same control movements as the bigger planes.

I would recommend a Profile as your first performing 3D plane. Then move up to a Funtana , Capache, U-Can-Do, etc...

The Freestyle rush is almost a U-Can-Do.

i am not gonna buy an electric foamy and i dont like profiles. the plane will be my first 3d but i dont need to learn with it.

RE: I need help with choosing a first 3d.

Icorrect me if i'm wrong but i think what he was talking about here is whats suitable to help you learn how to 3d, not how to fly;)

I have heard that the Funtana is slightly more stable in the hover than the capiche.

The capiche is made to fly, not to crash but can still shake off abusive harrier landings. Leave crashing to the simulator;)

Lamborghini, Since you don't need to learn to 3D, I would say go with the Funtana S 90. It is almost a copy of the Katana and it is a bigger plane. If this is not feasable, the the 40 size would do fine also, or a U-can-Do 46 or 60 size would be a fine choice also.

Have Fun,

Why don't you like profiles? If you really wanna 3d, you can't beat a profile for performance and wing loading.......

well thanks i'll consider it too when i'll make my final decision

RE: I need help with choosing a first 3d.

what about the u can do 46..
i have a couple of freind that use to fly 3d airplanes no into heli's
they like ucan do #1 then funtana then the 540 extreme profile..all good..
funtana is a hit or miss on wing drop i'v herd, there good ones and bad ones.
remmember planes are built to fly not crash,,,,a good 3d plane will be very light.with a good power to weight rat, but if the crash just pull the goodees out and get anther arf...

That's a common complaint... I understand... But you owe it to yourself to fly one... Just try it... You'll be amazed at what they can do.... I'd be willing to bet the appearance factor would become a non issue....
