Have you looked at the OMP Edge or Yak. They look like a lot of fun.

Wait a month till the new extreme flight yak 87" comes out. I have the 68" and it flat out is the best plane I've ever flown. The 50cc version is supposed to be even better!!!

A friend of mine has the Double Vision (with a ZDZ40 on it). Harriers real nice, stable. Other than that, not sure. Maybe a Wild Hare Edge..

I have an 80" hangar nine Alitalia Cap 232 that is super stable in a harrier. Great plane and flies excellent with a 50cc gasser. If you can find one, that would be my suggestion.

I have a GP Patty wagstaff with a BME 50 (which flies awesome), but i'm looking for a replacement in case I dork it in. Here are the top 3 contenders :

Extreme Flight Yak 87" : Looks awesome, supposed to be an incredible performer ,a little pricy

Aeroworks Ultimate : Looks awesome too, heard it flies superbly, also a little pricy and maybe not up to extreme flight's construction standards

Aerotech Velox : Looks OK, heard it flies very good, comes with full hardware and CF pushrods, price can't be beat.

I have seen vids of all 3, and they all seem to be rock-solid in harriers and be excellent 3D platforms

I too have the EF 68" yak and could not be happier with the qualilty and flight characteristics. I have a 35% edge 540 with a DA100 on headers and cans and that 68" yak flies better. I let other fliers give it a whirl and they cannot believe it. I can only dream about how the 87" yak from EF will perform. Chris Hinson (owner of EF) said it flies better than the 68" and as long as I have known him he has always been straight honest. I have my 87" on order and plan to call DA this next week for my 50cc. As far as price goes, you get what you pay for... Jeff W.

Jeff,

DA just got the MTW headers in stock that Chris is using on the 87" Yak. Just finished ordering all engine components. Now it is just a waiting game for the plane :).

Wayne, Wing bags with the plane?

Yup. And, tail bags.. (Similar to what Composite ARF includes with their planes.)

I didn't mean to imply that one doesn't get his money's worth with the EF Yak, merely that it is about $250 more than other offerings in the 50cc class such as those from BME, Aerotech or WildHare.

I agree that the Yak will probably be the ultimate 50cc plane, and it is why I am seriously considering it for next summer. Can't wait for it to get here.

Hey all,
i would reccommend the composite-arf 2.3m extra, i haven't flown it but i have flown there 2.6m yak and it is just simply awesome!:D
i was thinking about getting the 2.3 extra myself since they say it does 3d very good and they also say that it harriers with no wing rock!

Hello,

I can say the Aerotech Velox ARF is a great flying plane. I have enjoyed mine very much. I have about 80 flights on it now with DA50. You cant beat the price, customer service, kit quality and hardware contents. Good luck with your choice of planes.
