my lhs only has ..... ucd, flip, ft90, ef yak54, 3d harrier, 3d spirit, 3d passion, paramount
fun star, capiche, h9 ultra stick 120 & h9 73" cap232.

Yikes thats a list, if cheap is the way you want to go get on RCU's classifieds or Ebay. None of those are going to be real cheap by the time you are done getting them together. Unless you dont have to buy an engine servos and reveiver or transmitter. If thats the case go with the cheapest one with the exception of the ultra sticks I think they are all exceptional 3D ers. I bought my morris knife profile here with all servos installed and a YS .63 on it RTF for $ 300. 00 thats a steal. And it flys awesome. I love it.

i would say the EF yak. quality surpasses anything else in the list, and it flies like you never thought a plane of this size could. it really comes to life with a good four stroke and digital servos. (i use the ys 110 fz and hs 5925 digital servos) and i would strongly reccomend it. i briefly flew the funtana-90 and it flew well, but i would stick to the ef yak. looks better, and imho flies better too. when you say your lhs ONLY has these models, you make it sound ike it is not much to choose from. most lhs don't have half of that.

That's quite a list. Let's see... My LHS has....... nothing. count your blessings you have such a large selection! For all out 3D, you can't beat a profile, and the EF Yak would be a great choice. But for all around, I'd choose the Flip or Capiche. I have a UCD, and don't like it as much as my profiles. But I think the Flip and Capiche look better and can be used for freestyle flying as well as 3D.

i watched etoc 2004 the other day. it was awe..some. i have not seen anything like that before.
i strongly recommand u watching it if u like 3d freestyle xfc toc stuff
im now exploring the electric flight aspect of this wanderful hobby
going electric seems shortcut to good 3d flight
they are weighless , slooooooooow, graceful, affordable & yet 3d well(easily)
what are you all guys views????????

Ah Boon, OK I get it. As for electric the potential is tremendous. I have gone that route on a smaller scale (no brushless yet) but as it is the initial cost is steep so do the learning curve. Going through possible combinations of gear ratios to motor to amps will definitely blow a fuse in my brain. I wish you good luck!

As for the planes you mentioned, I have owned and flown the Flip and it will do all the 3D stuff and more.

Hi!

Avoid 3D Spirit as its quality is poor. (it´s good looking plane but it´s Cr*p with big C) ! It´s a plane if you wanna take the cover away (easy as Sunday morning - it´s only spot ironed in some places....you can nearly blow it away with your mouth), glue the whole thing again, bevele the control surfaces to get bigger throws, change the elevator set up to 2 servo elevator set up, etc....I´m SICK of that stuff, really!!! [:@] I heard Flip 3D is a good choise.....

Who sells the Capiche in a Arf in the USA ? and how much? I like the Funtana 90 I have the 40 as well. Profiles rule for fun. My hands are ready for the 60 size profile Edge 540 Extreme Flight will market in a few months.
