EF Edge 540T Fun Fly Prop Question

I'm getting an extreme flight Edge 540T and I'm putting a Saito 72 in it. Which would probably be the better prop for doing 3D and flying this airplane, a 14x4 or 15x4 Zinger?

RE: EF Edge 540T Fun Fly Prop Question

Actually,
With the .72 try a 13x6 (non wood) prop. Master Airscrew, APC etc..

4 cycles like the heavier props. It will give you a smoother idle (Flywheel effect)
I have tried 14x4 wood props on my .72 and didnt like them.

Hi Ben,
I'm using a 13X6 Master Airscrew Scimitar Profile Wood but am also going to try an APC as Wayne has suggested. You are going to love this combination. I have just started flying this plane and I have to say it is my favorite plane from assembly to flying. :)

Wayne, Saito .72 is running like a top. Thanks again for your help!

I would also recommend an APC 13x6 on this fun fly with a .72. The 14x4 generally stinks on a plane like this. You really don't need the additional thrust that a 14x4 will give you on this light of a plane. The 13x6 will give you an instant blast of air when you need it making 3D stuff a little easer. I think the 4 pitch props are better on the 2 strokes. Some people swear by the 14x4, but for the life of me I can't see why.

I have YS 63 running 20/20 fuel with 13X5 Master Airscrew. It hovers on 1/4 of the throttle. Plane is very very lite. I am going to try 14x4 just to see the difference. But I do not think this plane need anything else but 13x5 or 13x6.

I actually like the 14X4 better than anything I've ran on mine.

14x4 is a very good prop. The only problem I have it I can't get a good idle with that prop, but I think all engine are different and you might have a better result.

I'm running the 14X4W APC on a Saito .72 and my EF Edge flies like a dream! Perfect idle and quick transition. The low pitch keeps the speed down well.

I use 30% in my saito and it idles very well with the lighter wood props.
