Need to find a plane?

Hey i am looking for a plane that will hover and have pretty good unlimited vertical that will run a Homelite 25cc. i have been referred to the gb ultimate and the ultra lite stick but i dont think they will hover on a 25cc. i do understand that any plane that will hover on a 25cc will need many changes to it. thanks for the help.

the ultra stick lite is about your only chance ata wood plane. the homelight is weak and heavy try www.spadtothebone.com you can build a spad that will do that.

RE: Need to find a plane?

First you need to determine how much thrust the engine produces. If it produces 20 lbs of thrust then you will need a plane ready to go into the air at half that weight. I'm in the process of building an Extra 230 from G & L Hobbies. It is a fiberglass fuse with foam wing and sheet flying surfaces (these will be built up for strength and weight savings). I'm installing a Zenoah G-26 which should have 2~1 power to weight. The span is 78" and the wing is on a tube (easier to transport). See this at: http://www.glhobbies.com/

The directions leave a lot to be desired from the beginner builder so it would be best to have some experience with this type of kit (Short kit ~ you supply the wood). I hope this will be a good everyday plane to practice. I will post the sucess of this project in this forum when complete.
