An avalanche is a loop with a snap roll at the top of the loop. You can do a positive snap (Up elevator and same rudder and aileron) but a negative snap(Down Elevator opposite rudder and aileron) helps keep the geometry of the loop better.

Depends on the plane. I've had a few models that I could get to arc a positive snap so that entry and exit were perfectly on the curve of the loop.

Snaps......are snaps snap rolls? Because I alwyas thought snaps and snap rolls were two different things.

no snap rolls you do on purpose snaps are what you do when you go hey yall watch this and 3 seconds plane snaps into 10000,000004389578573764 pieces of wood no there the same thing almost. i've had planes that would only half way snap like go to ke instead of rolling all the way over if you jerked the elevator

right so errrrrrrrrrrrrr im thinking snaps are whats been outlined in post 2, and snap rolls are mega fast normal rolls with elevator like in the full size aeros.

thanks for the explanation, I just wonder how people come up with the names for these maneuvers 'cos what you've just described looks nothing like avalanche to me. I'd rather call a waterfall avalanche. :D
