Yeah, its cold without saying, snow is the big thing, we have the ground covered, hopefully at some point I can find an opening to fly, hopefully before having to wait till spring. Weather in NE in winter leaves alot for me to be desired, I hate winter, except it lets me get alot of building done.
Pilots stick is broke, Swiper is going down!

The canopy is one of my least favorite jobs to do on a plane, I tack the front and back with thick CA, once I premark everything, then I use Ultracote trim adhesive to trim it out. I pull and stretch it to cover the back and front, its a pain, but it makes it seemless, and when done good, looks like paint. then I added the screws to the side. I would rather do wheelpants. haha. My wheelpants actually came out real well, I used a piece of ply on the outside, inbetween the pant and gear, and one on the inside, to hold the 4-40 blind nut in place. I drilled a hole for the axle to go thru the pant, then you put the pant on, one wheel collar, the wheel, then the outside wheel collar in place. Then add the 4-40 bolt thru gear, thru ply/pant/ply-blind nut, and whalla. Its done!

Checked my CG tonight, its at 4 and a quarter at the wing tip. Chip said 3 and a quarter, what you guys think, was he being conservative? I fly 3D so, I am hoping its fine. Let me know your thoughts, sounds like from reading the thread that the cg needs to go back a touch over stock in any event. Thanks for any input.

I do not have an exact mesurment, however I am about an inch to inch and a half back of the balsa sheeting, what ever that is. And I did balance it upright.

Here are some additional pic that the builder took. He also shot vid of the second flight, however not posted, yet. http://www.zaprcproducts.com/airplan..._built_pg3.htm

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm try this pic. This is YNOT's Vision and the tail looks funny.:D He added some to the elevator.

He also has 80 plus degrees of throw on ALL control surfaces. Normal rates, High rates, then there is YNOT RATES ! I got the vid I just have to put it on the website.

Way to go dude! Nice flyin' and looks like a great flyin' plane!

Seemed pretty stable in a harrier and looked to have plenty of power... can't wait to see what my <15.5 lb'r will do!

Those K.E. to K.E. snaps were crips and sharp... good work!

That was only his second flight. He was just trimming it out. Heck I trim mine about 200' straight and level flight. LOL:D We will get some video that is more agressive soon.

YNOT,

I was wondering if you could tell us about the snapping tendencies...

Mainly how does it react to lots of elevator added quickly? DOes it try to snap to the right or is it very solid...

Medium to high speed walls... hard elevators... for instance on the DV I climb high, power off nose down roll a couple times then slam the elevtor full high rate.

The DV just rotates on it's CG and elevators down beautifully... flat and no wingrock... walls are "bam" with not one iota of snap detected...

I'm curious as to how the Vision reacts?

Gonna make me fly it more, huh? Fine:D

How 'bout some more videos and flight reports YNOT?

I've been hustling on my Extreme FLight Yak and the Vision to get them done and hopefully flown before going into the hospital...

Here's my Vision... The fuse recovering is done and now the wings and stabs are left... plus painting the cowl... otherwise the plane is completely built... the engine, pushrods, etc. have all been installed and removed for recovering... Should have this one ready to fly in a few days... as will be my Yak...\

I'm excited to be able to fly both of these birds!
