I am just a recreational Rc'er. I only fly 4 times a week, and build no more than 60 hr a week. I'd fly more, but i've already pawned everything I own for fuel...

Man you guys are pathetic letting toy planes control your lives. I on the other hand am in perfect control. I only buy what I need. Just so happens that I need it all.

Right now, what I need is the money and a good excuse for the wife why I definately need a Seduction Freestyle in addition to the 7 planes I have hanging in the workshop.

Oh Geez! I neeeeeeeed that plane!!!! I WANT it !!!!! Got to have it NOW!!!! Gasp! Whew! I'm OK. Whew! I am in control! NOT!!!

Hi fellow junkies. I too have a small problem, only been flying for a year and a half, now own 5 planes, with number six on the way. The only problem is with the wife. BUT,,, I think it is all a act on her part. The other day I was in my computer room / hanger, when she came in with one of our neighbors, showing him all the airplanes, she even knew the names, SlowPoke, Kadet LT 40, Sr. Telemaster, Pizazz, and Extra Easy. She even told him her favorite was the SlowPoke. He asked about starting and we will be going to the field with the LT 40 and a buddy box next week. Sometimes I cant figure her out! But then I guess we are not suppose to!! :D

Carefull there. It may be a trick. If she knows the names of them it won't take long for her to figure out what they are worth. That trip to the field - just you wait until she starts asking around about swap meets and auctions. You might as well just save yourself some trouble and send them off to Cheech right now. Besides, if she sells them think of what she might do with the money. You might end up having to go to the Opera with her or some other nonsense. Cheech, we better help this man before it is too late.

This is where I have her!! I feel completly safe going flying, (no more than 4 times a week) and leaving a few of my babies home. the secret? :confused: They are hanging from my ceiling, and the wife is only 5 foot tall. no step stools, and the only ladder is too heavy for her. 8 ft. She won't go to the field but 2 or 3 times a year, says its a guy thing. :D

I can feel the depravity in your writing, Saito56. JasonS is correct. You need to get rid of all those problems right now. My brother in law, an r/c sailplane pilot, is in JAX. He can seve as my proxy and get those problems of yours picked up right away.

Hi... my name is Paul and I'm an airplaneaholic..... My problem started three years ago with a bridi 20 size trainer... My disease has spread to all facets of my life and I now am powerless to control it... I must have RCU up 24 hr a day and check it at least every 5 minutes.... I get the shakes if I go for more that a day.... Since I'm typing this message, I have 0 days of being clean and sober.... Cheech, I know how busy you are, so I'm offering my hanger... ummm garage as an alternate space to contain any problems that might come your way... Please feel free to forward any problems to me... I'll keep them safe for you...

Saito56, if she is being honest you have an even larger problem on your hands. In Airplanes Anonymous we refer to this person as the "enabler". This friend of mine has a problem so serious that if it wasn't for his loving wife's help he would surely have every nook and cranny of his home filled with airplanes. Imagine the horror. You might be worse off than I thought. My "friends" wife refers to herself as a "pattern widow". Your situation is truely sick. The poor woman actually wants you MORE addicted?

For God's sakes man, get a real life and get to the bar nightly or buy a bigscreeen and watch sports all day. Do like many normal men do and pick up a girlfriend on the side as well. It is never too late to give up that Airplane Addiction and get yourself straight.

Boy, you are right, I looked at this beautiful Mitsubishi big screen the other day, and the first thing I did was figure out how many airplane/engine combos I could get for that money. I talked myself out of it, telling myself, that that 19inch black and white set still has a few good years on it! :p :D :p

Do you belong to the Omahawks? There is a threat that the company I work for is going to merge with a company that will have their headquarters in Omaha. I found their webpage, and am very impressed with the club. :p

Saito-56, I have lived in many areas and the Omahawks are by far one of the best. Within 20 minutes drive I have 7 flying fields and 4 clubs to choose from. Omahawks field is primarily sport and pattern, although you see just about everything there on a daily basis. Another local club has a huge giant scale following and a field to match. Yet another field finds many glider pilots. Within city limits we also have a dam site that you can slope soar.
I think alot of it has to do with Offutt Air Force Base that is located here. The only downside is the winter, but with a burgeoning indoor scene that doesn't slow down the flying.
It is a good place to be an airplane addict!

Heh, um..ok, maybe not.....I am really itching for a new .90 sized pattern plane......The Sun Fli 5 or the Widebody 60/90!!!! So many choices...so few paychecks. I'm 26, I have a Dazzler, Somethin Extra, A GP Super Skybolt, A GP Shoestring, a Seduction Freestyle, a SPAD, a Duraplane, a Super Decathalon. WILL IT EVER STOP???

The only way to kick your addiction is to box up all your planes, extra wings, radios, servos, servo horns, clevises, support equipment, balsa wood, fiberglass, fiber glass resin, epoxy, CA glue, carbon fiber, even those little servo screws and send them to me. I will be your sponsor you can call me any time day or night to let me know when you have been week and bought an new plane. I will come and help you to let go of it. Just remember it is an addiction and the first step is to admit it.

I was in the beginning stages of N.M.F.A. because of my two sons. I got them addicted "its just a little plane what could it hurt" and now they have gotten jobs so they can buy there own planes. So my N.M.F.A. had gone into remission. My wife is ok with my condition. I explained "Designing, Building and Flying it is a bonding time with my boys". As I ordered two more 7UAF radios from a fellow addict here on RCU.

There is a treatement for NMFA, but it is only partially effective. For some people it has worked wonders, for others it has made their condition worse. Please speak to your physician to see if E.B.A.Y is right for you.

E.B.A.Y. was right for me it did not worsened my condition so much as changed what is in the hanger. I also have been prescribed R.C.U. but it did worsen my condition and lessened it and worsen it again. I fee as though I was on a roller-coaster ride. YEE HAW!!!!!!!!
