+ and - Exponential?
My Hitec Eclipse 7 transmitter has both positive and negative exponential available. How do they differ? Do both of them soften the control throws near neutral? What kind of percentage do most 3D flyers use, or does it vary widely by model? I've seen some people recommend 60% on everything, and others recommend -15% on ailerons, -45% on elevator, and -30% on rudder.
Thanks, Clay |
RE: + and - Exponential?
JR uses positive expo to soften the center position. Futaba uses negative to do the same thing.
I am not a Hitec guy but I think Hitec uses negative. |
RE: + and - Exponential?
As usual, Geistware's input is spot on.
You'll find Expo is a personal thing. Some people swear by it and others don't use it at all relying on their fingers to be the "expo". |
RE: + and - Exponential?
I used to use alot of expo (- on hitec) and then increased the tension on the gimball springs. Immediately I noticed that I did'nt need nearly as much expo as I did before. The guy who showed me this trick suggested putting double springs on them for even more increased tension. I guess it just allows more positive inputs or something. Try it, you might like it;)
