g-TRICK
Has anyone out there bought the G-trick and had problems putting it together. This kit cost me 560.00 and the darn wings would not fit the airframe. What a Joke!!!!!!

I agree!!!!!!!!!! It is a joke.
When I got mine earlier this year I sent the darn thing back to Tower Hobbies and got my 500+ dollars back. Couple of the formers were loose, and the fiberglass cowling looked like crap. |

Mixed emotions -
mine went together without a hitch ($499 at Chief Aircraft in Dec. 01) but after a minor, minor mishap on the 4th flight I came to severly like the build quality. I can vouch for the loose formers and no glue between balsa sides and lite-ply doublers. No glue in firewall or landing gear area. To their credit, GP offered to send me a new one - but I elected not to - why? Because I went through all the hassle to make mine flyable and to the point I was comfortable it staying together. I didn't want to go through the time and hassle of getting a new one up to the level of my current one. I love the way it flies (YS 91FZ) and wouldn't give up the plane now, but I probably would look elsewhere when I am in the market for such a plane in the future? Maybe Piedmont's Focus, only $595 now (ARC). But then again, I heard some minor things about them. Anyways, I noticed some cracks in the balsa sides near the mid - to - rear part of the plane (in the blue covering area behind the wing... I have to strip the covering this weekend and repair cracked sheeting... UGH!) PS - it's ultracote. - Scott |
