pROP FOR mOKI 1.8
Hi,
Now that my Moki 1.8 is broken in I am wondering what prop to fit for 3D flying. I already own a 18x6 but I've heard that this is not enough prop for this engine. Should I go for a 18x8 or is the 18x6 ok. Thanks Dash |

20 x 6. Mejzlik carbon are good.

Try a Bambula 18-8 from RC Showcase. This is my favorite prop on my Moki 1.80. I fly mostly 3D. Hovering is no problem with this prop and downline breaking is very good. The paddles on this prop are pretty good size. It's also a quiet and efficient prop. The Mejzlik 20-6 is supposed to be very good also, a member of this forum said he got 6700 RPM out of it at close to sea level. The Menz 18-8 is supposed to be good also.

I tried a Zinger 20x6 w/ 5% Omega fuel. It peaked at 7500 rpm. Very good transition, and a lot of thrust, so much it's hard for me to hang on to the plane. I'd say at least 20 lb. of static thrust.

RE: pROP FOR mOKI 1.8
Was that a Pro Zinger or just standard Zinger?
I found this thrust VS RPM chart on Zinger's website. I think this it's generic. Not all props are identical. Even the Zinger and Pro Zinger of the same pitch and diameter turn different RPMs on the same engine. The Zinger is lower. I didn't even know Zinger had props this low in pitch at 20 inch diameter. Cool. http://www.zingerpropeller.com/Thrust.htm ORIGINAL: seanychen I tried a Zinger 20x6 w/ 5% Omega fuel. It peaked at 7500 rpm. Mejzlik 19-8 or Bambula 18-8. Pulls it out of sight.

I used a standard Zinger 18x6-10 on my Moki; very good pull. RPM around 8800.
