Lanier 300S

Sorry to beg folks. I picked up a plane at the local swap meet, actually the guy said here take this then drove off. I think it is the 1/4 scale Lanier 300S. I can't find any pictures of the front of this aircraft, and I don't know how to post pics of my plane here. Could someone please post a front and side pic of their Lanier 300S so that I may compare it. Mine has a wingspan of 76" and fuse length overall of 54" (44" firewall to vertical stab). Or tell me how to post a pic then you can tell me what you see. Thanks in advance for your help.

Take some pics of the plane and either store them in your documents or on a 3-1/2 floppy. When you post a reply there is a place at the bottom that says "Click here to upload!".
It's quite easy. Post some pics of your plane so we can check it out.

BTW....did the guy at the flea mkt. give it to you? Some people get all the luck:D

OK Bill I'm giving it a try. And yes the guy just gave it away. It was at our local airfield, once a year we have a swap meet and I always end up walking away with a plane. Don't think the wife wants me to go to another one. Thanks for the help

Nope. I don't have anything that says click here to up load. Guess I don't have that capability.

Bill, for some reason I have to go back and edit the post to get the upload file section. It worked any way. So let me know what you guys think it is.

RE: Lanier 300S

Well, I can tell you what it isn't. It is NOT an Extra 300s. The "s" is alow wing, and that is obviously a mid wing mounting system on the side of that plane. That being the case, I'm guessing it's an Edge, based on the canopy and stubby nose, but without those wings on there it is harder. If could, theoretically be an Extra 300 (no s) but I doubt Lanier makes a model of that one.

I agree, It is not the Lanier 1/4 scale Extra 300. I built one and it has a 72 inch wing span and is a low wing. That is a mid wing and has the straight landing gear unlike the Extras.

looks to me like a Staudacher... Could be the old goldberg one. A guy at our field has one

I attached the wings to maybe help out. Thanks for the suggestions. I agree that it is not the 300S. But that cowl is really throwing me off. Even though it fits perfectly, could it be the cowl off of a different plane? I don't remember seeing that air intake below the prop shaft hole before. All the planes I look at have the blisters on the side or a wide shallow cowl with holes in the sides. Thanks again guys.
