Edge or Extra?
I want to get into 3D flying and I need an airplane, no don't try to sell me anything but I want feedback on Edge 540's and Extra's. Who's do I buy, what are good feature's to have and I want it to be about 1/4 scale or 1.20 sized.

Edge or Extra?
I personally like the edge, because I think it can land slower and it does better 3D, because of its large surfaces the edge from Creek hobbies.com would be perfect if you are looking for quarter scale and put a saito 180 on it, YEAH!

Extra or edge ?? Ford or Chevy
Foxtrot_019,
First look at the following thread here in this forum. It has a wealth of information in this size plane. http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...730&forumid=31 You will also want to brouse the forum for additional information. The Edge has a good reputation in 3D and the Extra has a better one in precision flying. My personal favorite in 3D is the CAP232. If your choices are narrowed to the Edge or Extra and the purpose is to learn 3D then by all means go with the Edge. (I don't believe that I recommended an Edge to anyone!) I don't put a lot of points on the landing characteristics of a plane for IMAC use. The landings aren't judged. The CAP is more difficult to land than the Extra or Edge. If you learn to properly land any plane and can fly it you should be competent to land. If this isn't the case then go practice landings and learn to use the throttle to land along with the rudder. If you don't the result will generally be the same and end with a newly kitted plane. Opinions are like noses ~ everybody has one. This one is mine. EXCAP2322 |
