Really small and light aerobat
Someone mentioned a Stinger 10 the other day. I thought that would be cool until I looked up the specs. Now, I'm in search of a .15 powered plan with a 36 inch wing and an all up weight in the 16-20 oz range. Does such a beast exist? What about an electric converted to glow (blasphemy I know).

Try the Switchback by Mountain Models. Might be a little light for a .15 though.

Little aerobat
Take a look at a mini Laser 3D, but the .15 might be a little big for it. Tom

Yowza, those esprit models are spendy!
I had a little Norvel in my hand at the LHS the other day. Pretty cool. Is there anything between the .40 fun-fly and the speed 400 type? Preferably a raw kit. I've been looking and looking to no avail. I could go up to .25 for power but still like the .15 idea if I can find a suitable kit. |

A profi eh? I think I could scratch build one of those for less than $20 in material. Very interesting.
I was just reading about some of the technology that is being used in the latest crop of discus style had launch gliders. If some of those techniques were used on a mini-3D, you could probably build a .15 powered 36 inch wing model for 14 oz. Even if you didn't use all the high tech materials, you should be able to do it for 20 oz. I think that would be pretty darn cool. You could do an entire turn-around sequence over the runway. I think Lone Star Balsa is calling my name. ;) |
