U-CAN-DO 3D Canopy Tint?
 
what are you guys using for the tinted black (dark) canopys? i was thinking of airbrushing the inside with acyrlic "smoke" paint. also.......what is the best method to mount the canopy? thx chris

hey chris, ive done two ucd canopys and they both turned out great and i used rust-oleum specialized for plastics only and i got it at home depot.just dont leave your plane setting in the sun with temps over 80 deg or it will warp your canopy. oh and paint the inside!and i like using canopy glue, it just looks nicer than screws.

RIT dye that you get at the grocery store to dye clothes is the way to go. Just mix it up in a 5 gallon bucket, throw your canopy in and let it sit. The longer you leave it the darker it gets. Black and bronze both look pretty cool ....

pactra makes tint and its made for lexan.. its used on slot cars and R/C cars Just spray 1 light coat let it dry. and continue untill its as dark as you like letting it dry between coats (flash). dont HAMMER it on it will run

From what I have heard from Great Planes any ARF made overseas has plastic that does not take Rite Dye. Kits that come from the US do.
