help needed with laser 3d
sorry beforehand if this post is in the wrong place, don't know exactly where it should be.
i got a laser3d about a year and a half ago, and it has never been flown mainly due to college and lack of funds/work. I was recently able to finish the plane but still cant fly it due to problems with the electrics. the problem is with the elevator where the servos constantly jitter, sort of like when you have power to receiver and servos but havent turned the transmitter on only worse. I have tested the servos on a servo tester which drew a blank, tried different receivers, crystals and tried a higher voltage battery pack but still get the same problem. What could be wrong. The electrics are all JR with JR extension cables/y-leads. Thanks in advance. |
RE: help needed with laser 3d
If this is wrong don't flame me, but I've got the same plane and I was recently advised to wrap the elevator cables round a perspex or acrylic disc with a hole through the middle(like making a woollen ball for the cat to play with) and then do as normal back to the RX. I've no idea why, and my planes barely halfway through the build so I can't comment, but it has worked on someone else's plane of similar design.

RE: help needed with laser 3d
thanks flyboy. hope you have more luck than me.
I took the elevator servos and y lead out of the plane and tested them again. was still getting the jittering. I tried a much shorter y-lead and there was no jittering. the problem now is the y-lead i am using is about 60cm and with the servo leads connected i have about 20cm of spare cable. could the extra length be causing my problem? |
RE: help needed with laser 3d
Thats why I was told to wrap them, was the extra length made a hole for problems. I'll try speakin to the guy again about it and ask him for an in-depth explanation and then pass it on.

RE: help needed with laser 3d
i just cut my servo wires and spliced them for the ailerons instead of using a y harness also i noticed a jitter if tail is in the dirt or cables are too tight or servo screw is in too far

RE: help needed with laser 3d
I had the same problem, and I solve it moving the servos from the tail to the front and removing the extensions, some people tell me about the same problen in gliders and the solution above was the response
