Which prop for OS .32 for 3D?
Greetings,
I am putting an OS .32 in a light version of an Uproar and would like some suggestions for props for 3D. Thanks loads! Ernie |
RE: Which prop for OS .32 for 3D?
I always wondered if the .32 had the minerals[:-] to turn a 12.25x3.75 funfly prop, its thin and light, if that doesnt work how about a 11x4or3, 10x4or3:eek:

I would try out a 11x5 or 12x4, the 12.25x3.75 should be good as well. (APCs of course).
10x4 is way to light, you'd be close to the 20k rpm range with it, 10x6 is a good 10" for general sport-flying. |

Thanks guys! I've now done some testing, with standard muffler only. With the 10x6 I was getting 14,000, and with an APC 11x3 I was getting 13, 200.
I think I will opt for the 11x3, but wish I could find a light wood 11x3 instead of the heavy APC for this little engine. I didn't have the larger 12.25x3.75 but am thinking this is better saved for the .46 size engines. Ernie |

Ok, I was a little optimistic then, this engine needs to rev up a bit before it wakes up and delivers, I've used 9x8 and 10x6 APCs on mine.
What fuel where you testing with? I'm running a straight 15/15 (synthetic) and it seems about right, but I haven't any rpm readings on it. |

ERNIE MINSER-
I'm looking for a .25 size 3D plane.....tell me more about your 'light version of an Uproar' please. I have several .25 Norvels sitting around waiting for a plane. Anyone else have any ideas for a 2 pound 3D plane for a .15 or .25? Swede |
RE: Which prop for OS .32 for 3D?
The Uproar is an ARF sold by Tower Hobbies. Most guys put a .46 on it but it is a fairly small and light plane. I tried to keep it light by simply using a AAA 720 battery up front with the fuel tank and the OS 32 engine, mounted out a ways on the mount to achieve balance. Using Hitec 225 servos would have helped also, but I did not have them on hand.
I'm thinking that your .25's are too small for this plane....? Ernie |
