U-Can D0 engine
OK I purchased a U-Can-Do .46 with the intention of putting my saito .91 in it. In the mean time I sent this engine to Horizon for a check out. It needs @ $234.00 worth of repairs. So I will probably look for a different engine. What is the best 4stroke and 2 stroke for this plane?

Tsuppa, I have a Saito 82 in mine and it works perfect. Nice hovering, nice pullout. Really good power to weight ratio.....[8D]

RE: U-Can D0 engine
OS .46 AX , 12/4 APC , AAA PACK BATERIES , AND MICRO SERVO FOR THROTTEL = VERY LOW WING LOADING FOR 3D :D

RE: U-Can D0 engine
I had an OS 91 in mine. If I were to do it again I would probably get a Saito 82. IMO the 91 was just a waste of excess power.

I agree Grant Ed, although that 100 the Gjeffers has in his....... Now that's class..... And he flies the thing about 3 feet above the deck inverted......[>:][>:][>:]

RE: U-Can D0 engine
I have the Magnum .91 in mine and it's a great combo, probably some over kill there, but more is better than less.
Just as an FYI, found the motor on e-bay and it was NIB for $150.00. I have heard some folks say bad things about the Magnum, but I am pretty impressed with it, it's been a great motor. Tom |
RE: U-Can D0 engine
Once again, keep it light. Many are using the new Hype OS .50 on 30% Nitro and a 12X4 prop. I have a Magnum .52 on one now, running on 15% Nitro and a 12.25X3.75 APC prop and no limit on vertical and hover less than 3/4 throttle. I had tried a .91 mag 4 stroke, but the extra wing loading with that big engine hurt the 3D stuff more than you would imagine. My choice would be the .91 Saito, because it is about 4 oz. less than the competition and will swing a 15X4 APC wide blade pretty well.
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine. Just a really fun, relaxing, forgiving airplane, when you get it set up right. |
RE: U-Can D0 engine
I have a ST .91 2 stroke. Do you think this will work?

RE: U-Can D0 engine
TSuppa, I just guessing but I would think that a 2 stroke that size might tend to fly that plane too fast. Maybe if you propped it right it might not. Mostly the larger 4 strokes seem to work the best. 82 - 100
