If your trying to use the defult planes to hover with your not going to have much luck unless you go in and edit a lot of parameters. Visit my site www.Aero3D.net I have a lot of good plane setups that will 3D. Also you can download some great schemes to make it more fun!

Thanks

MIKE, are the add on's only for G2 software? Have you ever seen the Ikarus Simulator? I think it's from europe. In their advertising they have a hot shot saying it's the best. who knows

No, the add-ons are G2 only and the only sim I would buy simply because it offers more options, I know the AD your talking about. G2 is simply the best sim you can buy, every other sim out there costs about the same and can't touch the graphics quality and physics that G2 offers. FMS is a free sim but for me it was terrible. Same with Dave Brown same price as G2 and you can't expand. If you haven’t bought one yet I would go with G2 you will be a lot happier with it.

Mike, thanks for the info, I haven't bought the Sim yet, I really wanted to talk to somebody that had the Ikarus. Your probably right about the G2. I was trying to hover and torque roll the cap 232. no luck. It seemed like there wasn't enough rudder

move the cg back it will settle down.allso put a 46fx init with a 11x4prop.for some reason its easyer to hover.

Torqing and Hanging is fun to do in there in my online Sessions we usually get 4-5 Extra 330s and hang em close like you see in the pictures from Joe Nall etc. I see if I have a screenshot or two and post them. If no I will try and take some this week.

Thanks

Realflight Deluxe 3D

Just FYI, Realflight Deluxe works fine on 3d too. My favorite airplanes are the Sukhoi 3d and the Extra 330 3d. (Add-on volume 3 aircraft.... )

Don't even consider the Dave Brown sim. I have it and it just won't let me do 3d. I'm new to 3d but I can do a few moves with my profile that I can't on the sim. And hovering, its hands off even with wind. Just get it straight, get the power right and set the tx in your lap and you can hover 2" off the deck, even if you're being blown at 10 mph.

Well, I won't be buying a dave brown, thats for sure. Do you think the TOC champs keep sharp on simulators?

Hi folks!

I have both G2 and Ikarus Aerofly Pro and must say that in terms of sim-model and flight-behaviour the latter one is far superior to G2. In standard conditions like flying aerobatic manouvers at higher speeds, both Sims feel almost identical, but in terms of trying 3D, the fluid movements of the Plane, the reactions to every single Stick-input are just one thing - AWESOME :D !
Graphic quality in G2 is far more better than AFP, but everyone who tried AFP won´t leave it!!
For my feeling, TR-ing and Hoovering in AFP seems a bit more difficult than in G2, in the latter one if you put the plane at the correct attitude, it TRs almost by its own, AFP models this aspect with more acuracy.

AFP seems to be far more popular in Europe, i know nobody owning G2 (but me), but a lot of guy with AFP. In the US, AFP seems to be quite exotic - give it a try !

just my 2ct

best wishes
thomasK

edit: visit R. Matts homepage for information about 3D-ing with AFP: http://www.matt-rc.li/englisch/news/flugsimulator.html

What sims do you not need a 3D card for? I am looking for one for our comp. It has intel Pentium II 300Mhz, and 256 MB of ram. What'll work?

I would look for a good Geforce 2 or 3 card 32-64mb. Make sure your pc has an AGP port if not then buy a pci card. You would need a decent video card for for all of the sims, but a Geforce 2 or 3 isnt that expensive anymore.

Thanks
