I am loving the Showtime. I think it flies much better than the Funtana 90. it will do IMAC style flying and 3d without changing anything.. it's really nice.. One thing that i found is that out of the bottom of a blender or any sort of spin, it takes longer to recover and fly out. But i think that is just because of the smaller wings... it is still Really stable, and i think mine is tail heavy.. I have not checked it yet.:eek: It seems to just lock into inverted harreiers and upright takes very little aileron. harrier rolls are so fast it doesnt take much input.. it seems to hold itself up. Flatspins are nice and slow and very flat. (probably my favorite thing to watch):D dropping straight down. and of course Rudder control is insane.. Takes a bit of coupling with full rudder Knife edge. but if you let out just a bit, it seems to go away.

I think the Funtana is a better plane if you just want to go out and mess around... it's more of a care free type flying plane.

But the Showtime, i think, will actually help your flying more. you can practice both areas.. (3d, and precision)

Engine: YS 120
Fuel: Wildcat/Powermaster YS 20/20
prop: master Airscrew 16x6 K-series
Servos: Hitec 645s all around...

I Took the plane out yesterday and i could not get my engine to fire.. So it's still down. I will send the engine in and have it going again soon.. :eek: I miss flying this plane. It's a Bast!!:D

Well I just finished my Funtana and I will see how that goes maybe I will replace it with the Showtime sooner or later. My new Funtana is electric !!! 3.5 horse power (when converted over from watts) and it weighs 10 lbs 5 oz with batteries !! It was your video of the Funtana that convinced me to get it and it will be this video that convinces me to get a Showtime.

Kyle, what rpm are you getting with your engine. I'm running the same prop and getting 9k on a 1.08. I'd just like to know how much more power you have available to you than what I have. Thanks! Haven't seen the vid yet, going now.

i get about 11,000rpm. i run my engine really rich too...

I must say I got nothing to say about the video ... now I am thinking whether that is an inspiration for me to continue RC or to just give up! Hahahaha ... Kyle, as usual, you are truly amazing. I just ordered the Show Time, I wanna see what it can really do in my hands. If I can just do 3% of that Kyle does ... hmmmm ...

Awesome flying Kyle! Or as they say at the Cirkus, "Now that's Bad***!". :D Once you get it back in the air, it would be cool to see some video of it without the SFGs so we can get an idea of the performance difference. Have you flown it without them? If so, got any comments on the difference?

WOW!! your good. I have four flights on mine. I made the mistake of putting nylon gear servos on it and I got really bad flutter that broke the wing, but its fixed and i will fly it this weekend. I have a saito 120 and it takes it straight up out of sight.

I Do have a few flight on it without the SFGs. And i think i actually like it better without. The precision aspect of the plane goes down a little bit, though... Like Mike M. said in one of his post a while ago, The SFGs make pattern type flying look much better because it doesnt take hardly an rudder to hold it in knife edge. So you dont notice the tail dropping as much. In the video you can still see the tail drop ushually in the Knifedge Position at the end of a slow roll. But Mine is tail heavy, so it's exagerated a bit. I'm sure with a more nose heavy setting, and some expo, it would look Much Smoother. Some of the things i like about flying without SFGs is that Tipspins are a lot less difficult to get into. And you can lumchivoc (spelling?):eek: without them on. When they are on, they act as a brake in tumbles and wont let the plane slide.. It still has amazing rudder control without the SFGs. You can still get the high alpha Knifedge, but the plane is not moving as slow... (same angle, more airspeed):D They do seem to help a bit in upright harrier, but i dont notice much change in the inverted harrier. you can see in the video with a slight wind trying to hold a nice stable hover can get difficult.. the hard part is getting it into the hover, but once you get it there, it'll lock in.. (I never got it stable in the video)[:o] I actually think that without the SFGs its easyer to get into the stable hover... I'm not sure why, but that's what i have noticed... Flatspins are great either way, but there is a little of a wing drop without the SFGs. But's it's hard to notice if you're not looking for it.. and it'll spool up a little better in a blender without them.

Thanks Kyle, great info. Yeah, I love lomcevaks ( I had to check the spelling myself... ;)), and this plane looks like it should do them really well. Really looks like that tail will sling around the front. Well, my buddy at the LHS is cutting me a deal on one for $230, so looks like i'll be picking it up tomorrow.

Lomcevac. It's Chekoslovakian for Headache. Now maybe somebody can correct my spelling of Chekoslovakian? I know it ain't right. By the way. Nice flying, but I like your Funtana Queen the best. I have given up on 3D with my Funtana for the simple reason that I just don't have enough power on it. I am good at scaring myself to death with it, but that's my best maneuver. With the cg forward it flies very nice and smooth.

Truthfully.. it's not even a word. I spoke to a pilot from the Czech Republic at the World Aerobatic Championships in Florida in 2003 and that's the answer I got. Apparently the 1st pilot called it Lomcevak.. and when asked what it meant.. he jokingly said 'headache' cause he couldn't think of anything else..
