Hey RC Friends,

I'm just about done with my WM Extra300S with a BME50. I still need to purchase a stock muffler.

Man this plane is soo Heavy! I used my home weight scale and it came to about 18lbs. I may probably need to start cutting side lightner holes bring the weight down.

Any ideas? I'd like to see some pix of your Extra 300S's.

I’m in the finishing stage of completing mine as well.
Just waiting for the ZDZ 50 I ordered 2 moths ago to come in.
Gadgetman, are you sure that there is nothing wrong with your scale?
Mine plane weights 9lb 3oz without the engine. I figured if the motor, ignition, battery and muffler weight 4.5lb that will still get me under 15lb which is my goal.

Scale Calibration

I dont know if it is calibrated. It's fairly old and is a gift from my wedding about 8 years ago. Since then I gained weight. lol...

I'll try to find an accurate scale later on when I get a new stock muffler for my BME50.

I think the scale has been adjusted by your wife to motivate weight control! :D
Just kidding!
I think your plane is a lot lighter than 18lbs

I hope your scale is wrong, 18 lbs. for an 80" plane is a little heavy. 15 or under would be really nice.

The manufacturer does NOT reccommend gas for this plane...WHY? I have a gasser and the OS 160, but I'm at 4500 ft altitude and wonder if the OS160 will be way to little. No 3D, just sport and IMAC..wc
