Capx DA 50

I know you are out there. Guys who have talked about putting a DA 50 into a CapX; any updates?

None of the threads are current with post dating back several months.

Pics of mufflers and cowls would be great. John V , I did see your reveiw. What size spinner you running on that thing. Chip suggests a F3A .???????? Tru Turn sells an FAI. Same thing? Yours looks cool.

Stock DA muffler? Pitts style? Or DA tuned pipe? I want to keep as much of my cowl as possible.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,
All the pics I have are in the review, the size of the spinner, just measure the front of your cowl. Id get a pitts muffler, the stock one is pretty loud.

Hey John. Thanks. In regards to the spinner. I do know the size. It was just that I was wondering about the shape for the cap. Standard, Ultimate, FAI. There are alot of differant shaped ones out there and I would like to go for the best looking one scale wise.

mark.

PS wasn't there another guy in this forum who was going to put a DA 50 on this bird? That was a few months ago now. Be interesting to hear how it all went for him.Guess I will look up his profile and PM him he he doesn't see this first.

Hey fly boy, I have been down this same road. No one answered this simple question for me either.

As far as I figure, the standard will look the best. I know Chip and some others suggest the FAI but if you look at matt chapmans full scale cap you will notice how large and enlongated the spinner is in relation to the rest of the plane. Alot of other planes are starting to push the envelope on the spinner size as well. I think it looks cool. I went to alot of sites and finally settled on a 3" standard TRU TURN with custom slots and backplate prep for the DA 50.

You just putting one of these together? I am

I have noticed that there is very little info or threads on this particular plane.

Thanks, I think I will go the same route. I haven't started on it yet, it's my winter project, but I am trying to get the parts together right now anyway. I can't believe this isn't a more popular airplane, sure looks nice!

I forgot to mention this really cool site to do a search on any airplane. www.airliners.net just go to photos and look for any airplane you want. It's way cool to see all the different caps inside and out.

Hey Flyboy, I ended up changing all of the original decals. I got my signmaker to get the vector files off of brands of the world .com

All of my vinyls are official Brietling fonts. I also thought the red outline gave a little more something to the whole effect. If you notice, Chip had this and the Brietling wings logos on his prototype. Looks good I think. Only cost me an extra $60.00. The ones that come with the kit are pretty thin vinyl and they look hand cut. You also need to mask them in order to transfer them on to your plane.
I too am just putting all of my parts together. Another winter project.
