Yes that is right, i've convinced my self to get a profile, god forbid, just kidding. I'm lookin for an awesome 3D profile. I looked the Accelhobby GS40 and that is on my list of "maybes". I also looked at the OMP Yak-54. Don't worry I searched but I just didn't find what i was lookin for. I'm going to use JR-537s and a Saito 72. Anyone have and suggestions please post them!!

RE: profile
I can't really say anything about the any other profiles besides the Katana, having not flown anything but the Kat, but I can say it is an AWESOME flier. It does everything with authority, rolling harriers, flat spins, knife edge spins, waterfalls, hovering. You name it it will do it. I would highly recommend this plane, but again, not having flown the other planes my opinion is biased.

RE: profile
The cool thing about the Accel Kat is that it comes with removable wings. The Goldberg Extreme 330 is also a good one to look at. I had one and it was awesome.

RE: profile
Only the GS 70 as of right now has removable wings. However, I have read that OMP is in the process of making the GS 40 with a removable wing.

RE: profile
I have a Katana and GS 40 the Kat is better in many ways. Construction, ease of assembly, most importantly my Katana just flys better.

RE: profile
I asked Scott Shoemaker and he said to get an OMP edge 540 so i think thats what im going to get. But once again i'm open to suggestions.

I think the MOJO-60 is considered to be at the top of the list among most of the hard core profile fliers. The 40 is also extremely good. They are designed and built much different than the traditional profile. You will need to build these, but the build is very easy. The 40 with your .72 would be very, very good. I have the Mojo-60, OMP-Edge 40, Sledge,. All are good but the MOJO makes 3-d stuff almost too easy. (Is that possible?)

RE: profile
I have been looking at the Mojo-60... Now have a "Sweet" Satio 100 if
I did get it.... But besides ARF's My building SUKS!!!... So is putting the Mojo together that easy?? Guess the 100 is good for it?... Besides the on board flt. gear(electronics)...Does hardware come with it?? If not what is most useing?? Can it K.E. low and slow as the Morris the knife? Thanks for any info... Sorry for asking this on your thread Fletch124.... But you did say you were going with the OMP 540.... Would you expand on your thoughts for your choice?? |
RE: profile
Raideron, Yes the build is that easy. The covering is the hard part. If you don't mind covering or can find someone to cover for you it's almost as easy as an ARF. Here is a short video of my second flight on the Mojo. (PutFile only allows 10mb so it's just the hover part). I have never flown a Knife but I am certain it will out knife a Knife

RE: profile
Thanks WINGS.... The hover looks good... Beating a knife at the knife..
that would be pretty good! Because it does it quite well at a walking pace... Do you have a vid of the Mojo doing the K.E.? |
RE: profile
I don't have a video of it KE'ing, but I do have 2 mojo 60's with saito 91. They are sweet flying planes. KE is excellent, especially in HAKE. Very little coupling towards canopy or hands off. It is more difficult to get a good straight KE when you get them too tail heavy, but still easy. My 65" Yak KE's the best though and this would come in second.

RE: profile
Thanks for the info Guys... Sorry for the kidnap Fletch...
Guess I'll look at the site more... But not sure if/when I'll get it... It would be my second stick plane... I had a cheapy one which flew OK until I dorked it on my 15th tail touch.. And with my building skills... It just does not fly the same now... I have been looking/reading about the Mojo 60.. But I still need to repair/find parts for my 68" yak... and I still have the S.T. in the box.... So it may be awhile before I have the funds... And was just trying to see how much it would be to get it in the air.. excluding engine and radio gear.... As I would be using the Saito 100 or a Mag 91... and HS 645's... Anyway thanks again for the info and the use of this thread:-) |
RE: profile
Don't worry about it. I went ahead and ordered an OMP edge 540 47". I really would like to build a kit but I just don't have enough time.
