Ultimate Plane/Engine Combo for 3D

So.... what plane/ engine combo (within reason) is the absolute best for 3D? Anything from .40 sized glow planes to 150cc gas or bigger:D:D:D. I was just thinking about this and was wonder what people thought was absolutely amazing for 3D. [sm=bananahead.gif][sm=bananahead.gif]

Everyone is gonna tell you to build a profile.

I like all kinds of little 40 size stuff with a Tower Hobbies .75 engine on the firewall. I like planes with a REAL fuselage. Fatties--not flatties.

I don't fly profiles--simply because my personal opinion is that they are ugly. I'm not arguing the fact they they fly nicely. I just think they are ugly. Your opinion may be different.

Why, then, do I fly 40 size stuff for 3D?

Because I'm not that good yet--and I crash sometimes. The 40 size stuff is 1/5th the cost of a 50cc powered GS plane. I can smack 5 of them before it costs me the same amount of $$ as 1 of those planes.[&:]

I usually have between $300--$500 in a 40 size plane. Depends on if I ruined the engine or any servos on the last one. A lot of the time I can stick the engine in another plane. So, that saves me $100 on the total cost.

I don't have any GS planes with engines over 60cc -----yet.[:-] So, I'm flying 80--90" planes with digital servos. They cost me MINIMUM $1500--$1750 depending on the cost of the plane and the hardware, etc.......... I got $1850 in my World Models Patty Wagstaff w/G-62. I got roughly $2275 in my Kangke Laser 2000 w/ZDZ 60.

Smack a 150cc powered plane and your gonna be out about $6000+ [X(]

If your just getting into 3D--then do it cheap untill you get the hang of it. It doesn't matter what you fly. Flatties or fatties. Just start doing it. Do it a lot. And have fun.

Best 40 sized is definately the Fliton Extra, will out fly almost any plane in this class, we are talking all round performance now. Couple that with the SA100 its totally awesome.

Best 60/90 sized for me will be the F90 at present but I suspect the EF Yak 54 will be much better as an overall plane. Seeing how Kyle flies the Show Time makes me wonder when I will take mine up.
