I love when things work right

I brought home Hangar 9's Harrier .46 about a month ago, and slowly managed to get it put together (I have two boys under the age of 3).

I'm coming off of a Sig Mayhem 3D, which was the best plane I've ever flown.

I put my O.S. .46 FX into the Harrier, balanced the plane, and took it out to the field. Now mind you, this engine has been collecting dust in a now-retired cub for over 2 years. I put a new plug in it, filled up the tank, applied the starter and... After about 6 seconds on the starter, the engine lit up.

I warmed it up for about 90 seconds, determined the needle setting was spot on, and off she went. Flew great! Just needed some trimming. I have unlimited vertical with this engine, I can't imagine what it does with these oversized engines you guys are bolting on. The weather was in my favor: 50 deg and low humidity, so the engine was really putting out the power with the Top Flite 10x6 propeller.

I love it when things just fall into place and work like you hope.

:)That must be a wonderful feeling...what you experienced. Never happened to me.

Thanks

Top Flite 10x6 propeller
.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but this is a small prop for this engine. I am using a 11x7 prop.

Sig Mayhem 3D
,

Hos does this plane hold up in wind ?

Thanks

10x6 or 10x7???? NOoo !! you don´t want a fragile plane to fly that fast; try 12x4 apc or singer; or the beloved 12.25x3.75 APC Lot`s of thrust, less speed, more air over the suefaces, more gyroscopic effect, better 3d, best with a "tower muffler"

best regards,

Tower muffler & apc 12x4 will bring your .46 into an entirely different dimension. [sm=thumbup.gif] Don't worry, you will still have more speed than you need.

Patience, good members of the board. ;)

It's the only prop I had in the box at the time, and I had "new airplane fever", which meant I had to fly it or die trying.
