Looking for a 3D plane for a YS91AC
I need some suggestions for a 3D plane that I can put my YS91AC on. I'm thinking profile might be my best bet but I'm open to any other ideas.

For a profile the Mojo 60 would be a really nice choice.
For built up the Midwest 'Lil Cap is excellent. UCD-60 for an ARF Plus many others will work. EXCAP232 |

Check out the Aero-Works Edge 540 (.40 to .60 size).

My friend has a Funtana 40 with the same engine. It Rocks! The profile would also be a good choice.
Good Luck |

You can go to www.Ohiomodelplanes.com OMP and look at some of their kits and Arfs. There are several that they have for that engine. The 65" Yak would be great for slappin the sticks and 3D stuff. The Ultimate would be another good one and also the new Fusion.
I think the Mojo60 would be a tad to fragile, as I have a YS110 on it now and it shake the dog crap out of it. Swany is coming out with the New 65" Mojo. I guess it will be out first of the yr. The Toc Edge or Yak would be another good plane to look at. |
RE: Looking for a 3D plane for a YS91AC
IowaSilvia, I really like both the TOC fun scale planes. Have you flown either of these planes?
I've also been considering the TMPro katana V2 70 from OMP. The mojo looks great but I'm not looking to build anything right now. |

Hey. I had the TOC Edge. It was very nice. Good quality. Flew pretty good. One problem it had was not recovering from spins. Maybe it was my set-up. I don't know. But I put it thru the paces and I lost it last Sunday in a spin. It wouldn't come out of it for It's Life. And that is true. Cuz it's dead.
If you like the Toc Edge and Yak. Go for it. If It was me, I'd spend that $200 on a Omp 65" Yak. Better quality, way better machine. No KE coupling. Just an awesome plane. I just piled my 65" yak in last night. I'm really bummed, b/c it was my favorite. I feel lost. [&o] |

What engine and servos did you have on your Yak?

RE: Looking for a 3D plane for a YS91AC
I had a YS120fz on it, which is plenty of power. Hitec HB635's on ail's and elev. Hitec 6965 digital on rudder. I'd go with something better than what I had on the elevator though. 5625's or 5645's would be good. I guess Fut. 3010's are $25 and have 90oz of torque on 6V.

I wonder how well the .91 would be on that plane since they recommend the 1.00 - 1.20.

RE: Looking for a 3D plane for a YS91AC
Well. People are putting YS110's on them and it is a rocket with that engine. You have the 91ac which is pretty much the same engine. They just punched it out and the 110 has 5-8% more power.
That YS91 has more power than a saito 100 by far and people are using them also. |
RE: Looking for a 3D plane for a YS91AC
Your YS 91 would be a great motor for the OMP 65in.yak..or any other profile with this wingspan and weight...I fly my OMP with the O.S. 91, and it has plenty of Pull out, with the APC 15 x 4 APC prop.....A really good fuel for your YS is WILDCAT 20/20..It is a few dollars more than any 15% out there, but what you make up with performance, I think you will like it...this is my suggestion....Happy Flying.....

RE: Looking for a 3D plane for a YS91AC
The YS .91 would be better suited (perfectly) for the Katana 70 V2 rather then the 65" Yak.
