Kangke Lazer 2000

Has anyone had any experience with the Kangke Lazer 2000?

Nice flying plane... but definitely outdated construction ... its heavy, requires tail wires, and I believe the tail group is not airfoiled (at least the version I had was).. covering scheme is **really** busy too... hard to see clearly in flight.....

Good quality kit though if you just want somthing to slap together quickly. Personally, I prefer some of the newer, lighter designs...

Thanks DP. That's just about what I expected to here. It's a pretty plane and the the one that got all this aerobatic stuff started back in the seventy's. I just bought a new MVVS 45MC and need a plane for it. I have many different planes and was looking for something different. But not at the expense of performance.

I would not say the plane is low performance... it will do pretty much anything... its just a bit expensive compared to some of the newer lighter planes that's all. I ripped around pretty good with a Brison, but I always wanted more power and less weight.

You should look at the BME Edge II or the Yak.. low priced and very light / super high performance. I had the original heavier BME Edge and it was a blast to fly with a DA50... the new ones are almost 2 pounds lighter!
Of course the QQ Yak is in stock too... I just got mine... best plane this size I have seen yet... but it 'aint cheap!

DP, I have a Yak 87" but the Lazer 2000 is on sale from RC Showcase for 310.00 That's cheap for an 87" plane. I'm thinking about the BME Edge.

I'm on my 2nd Kangke Laser 2000. I haven't assembled the 2nd one yet.

It's not the absolute best 3D plane in the world. It will do 3D, but the ailerons aren't really that big. They stop about 15" from the root.

My tail is airfoiled.

First plane had a ZDZ60 in it. I was not happy with the enigne. I had ignition failures (twice) and hard starting problems the whole time I had the engine.

I dumb-thumbed the plane about a month ago. Totaled the engine too. Good Riddens. I won't be replacing that ZDZ60.

I'm going to use a G62 on C&H ignition for this second plane.

It's a GREAT pattern and IMAC plane. Absolutely GREAT!! It flies GOOD!

I don't want to say that it won't 3D. It will. But it just won't perform at the same level as some of the newer designs out there.

If I wanted one--and I could get it for $310--you bet I'd buy it. In a heartbeat. I paid over $450 for my first one and $425 for the second one. $310 is a screamin' deal.

Thanks fpr ypu Input RCpilot. I ordered one tonight and nwe'll see how it flies. 3D stinks as far as I'm concerned. I prefer Imac or Pattern over 3D. Got the new MVVS MC 45 for an engine for it. It's suppose to swing a 24/8 at 7200 rpm we'll see

Bob - if you don't care about 3D, you will like the plane a lot... be careful when you align the tail.. mine was a few degrees off and I didn't catch it until after I glued it.. (DOH).. also you can probably ditch the tail wires - you most likely won't need them if you are not doing 3D. For $310... I might even be interested! That's cheap! It worth that amount for sure... even if it just sits in the box for a while...

I used to think 3D stunk too.... because I stunk as a 3D pilot!! .. .but I have been getting better so its more fun to mix it up. I still fly mostly general aerobatics (i.e. the plane is actually flying!)...

DP, It's not that I don't like 3D because I do. However, I enjoy the "Scale" end of this hobby more than the "3D" type. After all.......How realistic is it to watch an airplane hover all day? Sadly, that's what most people call 3D flying, and what most people attempt to do. I'll be the first to admit that it's real exciting to see someone that can really perform the "High Alpha" aerobatics correctly, and slow enough to keep up with the airplane while it is doing it. But most of the people I've watch try to fly 3D are so high in altitude, and fly so fast, it's just not interesting enough to keep my attention. My interest has always been more toward scale aerobatic type flying rather than 3D. Years ago I competed in many scale contest and even had some success. As a matter of fact, I won the SE "Scale Masters" in my class back in the 70's. I'm going to use my new MVVS 45 MC on the Lazer, and I'm sure I'll be pleased with the results. I'll probably just add some 1/2" tri stock under the elevator and PIN the verticle stab to the Fuse. Like you said, for 310.00 how can you go wrong? One could probably make a hundred bucks on the kit next year, just holding on to it for a year. at the rate the price of kit's keep rising, maybe even more.
