Is the Moki 1.8 a Nitro Guzzler ??
Like what would my average flight times be with a 20oz tank??
If its to bad i may just go Gas on my katanas |

from my experience with the moki 180 you should get about 10 minutes on a 20 oz tank. But be sure to run 0% nitro for a few gallons. Running 10% out of the box will give you lots of dead stick landings. The motor needs to be broken in before you add nitro.

AT full throttle, it can burn 2.2 ounces per minute. But with my flying style, on a lightly loaded plane, I fly a lot at partial throttle. I use a 12 ounce tank on my 11 pound fun fly with Moki 180. I would think with the Katana, you will be flying a lot at half throttle.

I have a Moki 1.8 in my CA models 24% Extra 300. I have a 20 oz tank and fly 10-12 minutes. When I land I still have at least 1/3 to 1/2 tank left. I am rarely at full throttle (only pulling verticle) I love the engine. My YS120 goes through more fuel (more expensive too) than the Moki.

It guzzles the fuel. Use a Kline pump too or it will never run like it should. Always run FAI (no nitro) even after break in..these engines don't like any nitro, especially not as high as 10%.
Good engine, just expensive to run and man do they leave a mess on the plane.... DP |
