equivalent 4 stroke power
hi
just wondered what is the equivalent 4 stroke power is when compared to a 50 2 stroke with mini pipe. looking for a powerfull light 4 stroke. thanks for any comments |
RE: equivalent 4 stroke power
I would say the SA82 or the YS63. They both will turn a 14x6.

RE: equivalent 4 stroke power
I would agree with the Saito .82 or even the Saito .91. You can't compare props, since the two stroke needs a smaller prop to turn up and get on the pipe. I ran an OS .50 SX with a tower muffler on my UCD and like the performance better than the four stroke with the larger prop, more P-factor. But to each his own. IMHO it takes at least a .80 - .91 four stroke to match the output of a strong .50 two stroke.

RE: equivalent 4 stroke power
theres only two light weight 4 stroke powerhouses to be considering: ys 63 and saito 82. I`m still trying to deside witch one of them will be my next engine. look back in the glow engines forum for the post "ys 63 vs saito 82"

go back to page six. "saito 82 vs ys 63 fz-s"

RE: equivalent 4 stroke power
Owning both the 63 and 82 Id say the 82 is alittle better but barley, it runs alittle higher RPM's with a 14x4w and its a tad light then the 63, but the 63 has great fuel economy, its a toss but IMHO the 82 is the better, And I promise the 50SX or 46AX dont compare with the 82 or 63 in absolute thrust.
A good 46-50 2 stroke will pull about 7 1/2 lbs of thrust, the 82 pulls 9lbs and the 63 about 8.9 lbs. |
RE: equivalent 4 stroke power
Ah no. I measured a Webra 50 on minipipe (mousse can) pulling 9.75 lbs static on a 13-4 APC .

RE: equivalent 4 stroke power
did you tach that webra on the 13-4???

RE: equivalent 4 stroke power
13500

RE: equivalent 4 stroke power
I have a saito 82 as well and if you want to go simpler than the YS 63 than the saito is a good choice. The main differences between a good 50 and the saito is mostly in throttle transition; it is not faster but seems torqier (sp?) and the throttling overall is somewhat better.
