dual elev. setup on JR 9X
 

When i set the elevator as master and aux2 as slave, the elev. servo lags behind in speed quite a bit. both elev. servos are hitec 5645 MG digital ones. pls tell me what i'm doing wrong. How do people generally setup dual elevators?

there is probably a program for slaved servo in th 9x which includes trim
The US version (9303) has this -- It is in initial wing setup screen and 9X may be different -I do not know.
On the 9393 -if you simply try to use El as master and aux2 as slave - it will NOT properly setup and no trim will be available .

Trim IS available when you run dual servos for the elevator ... I need to check with my radio ... there is another setting you need to do to ensure trims are running on both channels. Tomorrow then.

Guys:

Thank yhou for reminding me why I spend a few extra bucks for the 10X. I go to "wing type", push one button and get dual ailerons, push another and get dual elevators. Then I can control the speed or throw on each servo if wanted. Spoiled and loving it!!!

If I remember right, mixes 5 and 6 are already set to trim both channels together.
Thats how it is on the 8103

Refer page 10 in your manual.

have a look in the "wing type" program, there are facilities there to set up dual controls. I haven't had time to experiment with it to figure it out.

The 9303 -is unique - the same setup for dual elevators is not used on any other US version JR radios
but the 9X is a software permutation of the 9303 (or vice versa)
I have the 10x and the 9303 - I like the in field ease of changes on the touch screened 10X
but the 9303 is really a much more versatile radio with a ton of really trick features.
all in all if I was forced to pick just one --the 9303 would be it

You might check to see if both servos have the same software. I know some Hitec servos changed the (I can't remember the correct term) program revision between last year and this year. My flying buddy had this issue on his H9 260.

yes same -
First go to device select screen --- then
inh the aux 2 switch
then on wing screen- select the aux 2 servo --the two are then coupled - el/aux2 - and trim is active
also ----on mine for some reason the two servos are perfectly aligned in mirror fashion- that is --th servo arms are aligned
On my 10 x when doing this -- the servos are matched but the arm on one servo is 1/2 spline out
Iwish--- JR and everybody -- put a 1/2 spline total adj screw on servo output - just enough to do a perfect match on mirror image or paired servos - It would be sooo simple.

I just figured out how to do it. I use a 10X for my airplanes and the 9X for my heli and foamys.

We have an NZ versus Australia F3A contest here this weekend and one of the guys who uses a 9X wanted my Pattern plane as a back-up. I just programmed my 9X so we can transfer it straight to his transmitter. In the Device set up, I disable all the aux switches as a matter of course. This is when I found all the options came up for the second channels available in the Wing Type program.
I used Aux 3 as the L elevator channel as per my 10X.

I really was stumped on this one too -so I called Team Support -
I hate to say it but the way the books are written, pre supposes everyone reads/understands THAT approach.
Way back when - I wrote the manuals for the machines I designed
My writing was awful.
After reading a lot of manuals and then trying to use the manuals , I found some basics that helped me write -in a conversational manner .
It may seem strange but how something is written, can seriously affect how the brain interprets the information.
This is why stories -over hundreds/thousands of years, were often sung or made to rhyme in the original version.
In some cases they were done to a rhythm.
I will never forget an early Futaba manual which started to address a particular function with " Enable the OFF switch-----"

You wasted your money, the 9x has exactly the same feature and has a bigger screen too! :D

I got into this discussion with a proud owner of a new technicolor radio.
(I use Sony as my preferred TVs -have four of em)
anyway - the computer radio came along in early 80's and I have had the chance to try em all.
The current JR10X - I obtained before the 9303 came to be

Both require that you select a wing type from a wing screen
The 10X however does not use a "setup mode" as does the 9303- you can switch back and forth thru all functions without ever have to kill power and restart with power AND enter at the same time
But the 9303 has a nifty way of letting you try a setup (in the adjustment screens) and then switch to the default screen and then switch back to the adjustment screen you were using.
This is handy if you are -say adjusting flaps-
On the 10X - you would have to punch in the right screen code first.
In following thru the number of steps ( punch up a new screen) required to do a given task - the 10X is usually the best -but some times the 9303 is the best .
