Another 3D Prop Question
 

I'm assembling a Funtana 90 and it will be powered by an OS 160FX, I fly at 5800 plus feet, after looking around on RCU, it seems that it is recomended to use an 18x6 but what brand? What's the diffrence between 18x6 and the 18x6W? I'm new to 3D

Check your ground clearance with the 18" prop, I felt it was a little close for me.

The 18X6W is alot wider (W) than the standard 18X6.. Which means more thrust but it also means more weight and slower spool up.. The APC's are heavy in this size and I would personally steer in the direction of wood.. MenzS series props are great.

Thanks, I'll take a look at the wood props, now, my other question is spinners, I can't find a good fitting spinner for these large props at the LHS, I would like to have an aluminum spinner, the LHS had a 2 1/2 inch that I want, but for some reason it doesn't fit, is there a prop & spinner combo or are there specific spinners for an application. I hate to order a spinner just to have it nnot fit properly.

Try the APC 18x6w. I have tried most props on 3d models with this sort of engine size and it is the DBs.

You want find a perfect prop spinner match in this size. Any spinner that you chose and I say this because you can chose any spinner that you want, you will have to take a dremel to the prop openings on the spinner and increase the size until the prop has the proper clearance.

I think that you will want at least a 3" spinner. I have a 3" on mine and it looks great. You would be surprised how big a 3 incher looks in the store and how small it looks on the plane.

I have a 3 inch spinner, but when I mount it passes the openings in front of the cowl and it doesn't look right [:'(]
