RE: motor for the v2 46
If it doesn't weigh much more than the original GS it should have lots of power with an OS 46. That's what I have in mine (GS Katana with OS 46) and it has plenty of power. Just a guess but I would say that the Magnum 70 weighs too much.

RE: motor for the v2 46
Just dump in an irvine 53 and you'll be laughing. My Laser and EF Edge are both powered by one, and each has plenty power

RE: motor for the v2 46
spec36... I use a YS 63 in mine 17.9oz.... And using a T.T. 2" spinner, the
flt. pack in the wing as far back as I could get it, all else stock except for adding a bit of C.F. tube to the tail wheel wire for added strength. I needed to add about 1/2oz next to the tail wheel to get the rearward CG... She fly's great.... Well the YS gets me sometimes:( |
RE: motor for the v2 46
man now i dont know what way to go i have a new 72 in the box and its weight is less so maybe 13x4w with it are what about 2 stroke ? i will look at the ys never had one but they must be good everyone talks about them as so ..got to go back to work check back later thanks all ............

RE: motor for the v2 46
Mine is powered with the saito .72 and is AWESOME. I had a TT Pro .46 to start out with. It had enough power but the extra prop you can swing with the four stroke really makes a difference in the amount of air pushed over the control surfaces. It increases your control over the airplane at slower and even post stall speeds.

RE: motor for the v2 46
big prop sounds good to me. did you have to do any cutting for that os70 if you look at my pic above i may have to remove about 3/8" to get it in there .not sure about the saito it may have a smaller case my buddy going to bring it over for me later . he has been doing the breakin for me on his stand. the saito is less weight and can turn more prop .now witch one is stronger. for pulling out. to much time to think about this and want to be ready to fly as my finger is getting better from the foamie tryin to eat it . you can read about that in 3d electric flying hurt by a foamy thanks for all the input from all... spec still thinking ..........

RE: motor for the v2 46
Saito .72 is more power, lighter, and much easier to keep tuned than the O.S. .70. I did have do do some cutting but it didnt seem like a whole lot. A few minutes and a dremel tool and it was all done.

RE: motor for the v2 46
got a few flights on the saito 72 this thing has plenty of power for the v2 46 i can hover at less than half stick and pull out like a rocket i think if you keep the weight down a 65 would do it . i have a 14x4w prop on it.

RE: motor for the v2 46

RE: motor for the v2 46
Thanks again spec36. I looked at mine last night and can see how to make it work now. My servo is a little different but it will work. It really helps a lot to look at the pictures you posted. Thanks
