I was told that the new DP extra 330 uses pull pull system on the elevator. I have one of these planes comeing and I was wondering how this would work.

Take a look at Dave P's web site. It provides for the option of a pull-pull system on the elevator primarily for using light engines ( i.e. a OS 160FX). With heavier engines mount the servos in the tail end. They will send you the pull-pulls if requested.

I am going to use moki 1.8 . what would be the best set up for the elevator. Would 4 55 oz mini servos be the best for the ailerons 2 on each aileron.

I am not sure if I would trust the gears on the mini servos. I would go with regular size and metal gears.

Dave sent me an e-mail and he said if you put two servos on each aileron try to shoot for combined torque of 120oz or more.

I still have not got what I whanted to know. So I am going to give my thoughts on what servos to use. One 100 oz on the elevator. 100oz on rudder and 2 100 oz 1 for each aileron. How do you think this will work with the moki 1.8. Please give specific thoughts.

I think you will be fine if you fly at about half throttle but if you try to go too fast and have too much pitch on your prop I think the first thing to go would be your ailerons followed closely by your elevator if by saying 1 servo for the elevator means 1 servo for both elevator halfs ( not one on each elevator half). As to the rudder I dont think that is powerful enough either. I am also getting a DP extra and I am putting a moki 2.1 on it. Here is my setup on the servos-one 8411 155oz servo on the inside of each aileron, one 811 56oz servo on the outside of each aileron, one 8411 155oz servo on each elevator half ( admittedly this is about 50oz on each elevator half more than you need) and one 8411 155oz servo on the rudder.

What about this set up . 4 70 oz 2 for each aileron.2 70 oz 1 for each elevator half. DP said a 100 oz will work for the rudder. Will all these servos be to heavy ,thay are about 2 oz each wich will be about 12 oz all together. What prop should i run for a moki 1.8 at 5000 ft elev. Will a 1.8 give unlimeted vert. what battery pack for all thes servos.
