enough power for 3d?

I was wondering if the o.s. 50 sx is sufficient for 3d with one of the popular .46 size profiles (extreme 540, omp katana etc.)

Sufficient?!?!? It's more like perfect for those planes.

Of course its enough with the correct prop. Profiles are about only 4.5 lbs. My Hokusei had a simple ASP 52 and with the 12x4 prop it was more than enough, I was running only 5% nitro. Your OS is a lovely engine and with a 12x5 its great stuff.

I have been flying a 4 lb Burrito with an OS50 for about a year and like it fine. I started flying the plane with an OS46, which was OK and had a YS63 on it for a while - more power than I need. The OS50 is just right for me. The engine starts right up , runs without a hitch and I use 3 ozs of fuel in 10 minutes.

More than ample, I've seen a Weston UK Groove freestyler 3ding on a OS46AX
